Djuma Soundsystem - Les Djinns (Trentemoller Remix)

I'm probably a bit late on this one as my music taste has been all over the place recently. But Oh my. Trentemoller really has refound his touch with this remix.

So overplayed it hurts.

I really don't see the appeal. Good tune, but it's success is a mystery to me as I don't really see it as anything exceptional.

Lawler ended his set on Saturday with this w/Green Velvet - La La Land acapella layered over it. Completely random.

good mix, altho some of the mixes on the original package beats the trentemller remix easily, like the red mix & the heads mix.

Exactly.

I was really suprised to see so little discussion of those two mixes - They're both rather nice, and I just thought Trentemollers kind of paled in comparison.

Edit: Actually it's the "Heads Mix" and "My My Mix" that I've been enjoying - Haven't heard the "Red" mix.

Didnt know it had been overplayed but I can imagine it being whored by everyone. La La Land over the top, hmm, did that actually work well? Might have to check out the original too then.

i bought the original vinylpackage a while ago. mine was mislabeled tho , so i thought the trentemller mix was the heads mix. got corrected when get physical rereleased the trentemoller remix. eitherhow yeah. heads mix is probably my fav.

First time hearing this track was at Crobar when Lawler played it as his encore. Was a perfect close to the night.

I honestly think it's a phenomonal tune. I was down at mambo on my last day of a two week holiday and the dj played it, it was fuckin class in that setting.

It's actually pretty old, 2003 I think was the original year of release

Yeah- it's a wonder it only got HUGE this last 6 months/year-

Similar to the way Beta Boy became popular much after the release date.

I agree that the tune is overplayed but it's fantastic. Lawler ended his set with it at Pacha in Ibiza when I was there and I loved it. I just checked out Peter Kruder (Kruder & Dorfmeister) this past Friday at a club out here and he played it as well...didn't really have the same effect though

That said, I love the track...almost bought it, but probably wouldn't play it out.

Posted by RJT on Oct-24-2006 19:25:

Well it certainly would appear that Lawler's encores as of late are fairly predictable!

I've always wanted to obtain that power.

It'll be more like the last 45 min of his Essential mix... he's spinning at Cielo in NYC on Thursday night at the Robots party... as for the song, it definately shows off his diverse musical production talent... I like it, but as said earlier, Lawler dropped this for his encore in NYC and I was dissapointed, isnt a bomb... I like this song as an opener, but WTF for a closer...

Great remix. I really like the vibe it gives off from the begining until that instrument comes in.
