Are you going to upload the mix onto the net so we can hear it?

Yeah, we're all interested to hear it! And how does that Alice Deejay mix sound? I'd like to hear how good Better Off Alone can get.

The Jam X and Dumonde mix is pretty incredible. I get shivers up and down my spine when I play it - it's that good.

I'll see if I can rip it sometime.

i dunno how to upload the mix.. its on a tape.. i guess i could plug a tape player into the computer and record it as a .wav and convert it to mp3 but i dont' have anywhere to store it..

the jam/dumonde mix is fucking sick.. i used to like better off alone back when it was all popular but most people think its a stupid cheese track.. but the jam/dumonde mix is pretty phat.. at the beginning it has some pretty crazy effects.. u can prolly d/l it from audio galaxy.. or if i ever figure out a way to upload this mix u can hear it..

i listened to the mix and there are some noticeable fuck-ups but its over pretty good.. there are a couple bad off-beat transitions but if ur not really paying attention (or if ur not a dj) u might not notice.. the worst part is my transition from better off alone to the kay cee track, i had the volume low on the kay cee so when i slide over (in my headphones i was hearing kay cee) and i had them both going for a while and i let the better off alone just end and then i realized that the volume on kay cee was down.. but oh well..

hey fellow dj's.. anyways tomorrow i'm going to record the tape onto my computer and then im gonna chop it up into like maybe 3 or 4 sections that can be downloaded from my various aol webspaces.. i think that should but im not sure how much space aol allows.. or i could just upload the different parts into a bunk myplay.com account and give u all the username and password so u can log in and d/l it form there.. either way.. i'll let you guys know whats up tomorrow..

Posted by Great Outdoors on Mar-20-2002 15:47:

Hey Hapamoto, personally looking forward to hearing your masterpiece! Keep us posted.

Posted by hapamoto on Mar-20-2002 21:45:

ah man.. its far from a masterpiece! please don't expect too much because i really didn't put too much time and effort into it.. i think im gonna have to chop it up into like 3 or 4 groups of songs because im gonna make a fake myplay.com acct and upload it there and give u guys the password and username so u can just log in and d/l it from the locker..

Posted by Dmatrox on Mar-21-2002 00:21:

That is a great tracklist! Can you send it to us?

Posted by hapamoto on Mar-21-2002 00:55:

ok.. got part 1 up..

alright.. i chopped it up and so far i've got part 1 uploaded into the myplay.com account.. i have part 2 also but i haven't had a chance to upload it yet cos it takes a while and i have to go to work.. part 2 and part 3 shall be up probably tonight.. if not, tomorrow.. but anyways you guys can go download part 1 for now..

this is how it works..
1) go to www.myplay.com
2) useremail: [email protected]
password: djreel
3) click on "my locker"
4) go to "tracks" or something like that
5) download "part 1"
6) after downloading, don't forget to sign out because i'm not sure if it allows multiple users in at one time!

part 1:
(starts off w/ me mixing into one of my friend's house records)
satoshi tomiie - virus (satoshi's reprise)
paul van dyk - vega (starecase remix)
star - rock rose (original mix)
sipping soma - superconscious..so alive (markus shultz mix)

yah basically each part has about 4 songs cos u can only upload like 25mb max at a time.. anyways hope u enjoy!

Posted by DJ LIQUID on Mar-21-2002 03:26:

cool im downloading it now.........i cant wait

Posted by hapamoto on Mar-21-2002 05:40:

ok.. part 2 is now available too.. just follow the directions above to d/l it..
part 2:
pablo gargano - absolution pt.2 (david forbes mix)
brooklyn bounce - club bizarre (tomkraft remix)
dusk 'till dawn - fine night (wallop remix)
bad habbit boys - weekend (cj stone & george dee's club mix)
alice deejay - better off alone (jam & dumonde remix)

the dusk till dawn track sounds like it skips in the middle, this is because that is where the tape flipped when i recorded it and i just cut out the empty space.. enjoy!

part 3 shall be up tomorrow.. i don't have time to upload it tonight

Posted by Great Outdoors on Mar-21-2002 15:58:

Hey hey! I'm downloading it now; waiting for part 3! Thanks for the effort to upload your set!

Posted by hapamoto on Mar-21-2002 20:56:

hey.. part 3 is now up..
part 3:
kay cee - escape (club mix 2000)
4 strings - day time (free state vocal mix)
gouryella - tenshi (transa mix)
4 clubbers - children (club mix)

the 4 clubbers track/(robert miles song) gets cut off because my 60 min tape ran out of tape.. but u get to hear a good part of it.. all three parts are up now.. it is supposed to be a whole set so try not to listen to only one part at a time otherwise u won't really understand the whole 60 min set as one piece (keep in mind this was a live set).. enjoy!

thanks, i will look into that!

..anyways, i listened to the mp3 version of my demo and i'm sorry to say that it skips every now and then.. I think this is because my computer can't do something for an hour straight w/o dumping the memory everynow and then.. so i guess the skips are periods when the memory was doing something else besides recording.. it only gets bad in a couple songs, but if you're wondering why it sounds like its skipping, its not my vinyls being shitty, its my computer being shitty.. sorry but thats the best i can do! anyways.. hope you guys like it.. and after u listen to the whole thing, feel free to put up comments.. and if i suck, please be nice!

I've listened to almost all of the Better Off Alone remixes and I have to say that the Signum remix is by far the best one, hands down no contest. This is of course from a trance perpective and not a house one. My second favorite that I don't believe is available on label is the george acosta remix. Check them out.

hey hapamoto, i didnt get a chance to listen to your set yet, but i just wanna say that starting the set with satoshi's reprise is an excellent idea!! i did that myself when i just bought the record, its a perfect track to start off a set, only i went into marco v's simulated, try it, it kicks ass too!! good job
