college question...
so I really dug myself a deep hole in this one class....
I'm ganna withdraw from it and take it again in later semesters.
how bad is withdrawing?
On a good note, dropping this class will give me more time and less pressure so I can focus on my other classes.
I'm in the same boat bro. dropping a class sucks because after certain dates you cant get your money back and even later dropping a class means taking an F. If you drop early enough though you can get your money back and just take less credits without taking an F.
As far as I know, withdrawing before a particular date in a semester results in a W grade, which does not affect your GPA. However, if you decide to withdraw from the course after that date, it's pretty much considered that you just stopped going and you fail the course as far as GPA/credits are concerned.
The thing about the W grade is, though it does not affect your grade, by the time you get to the point in your semester where you know you want to drop the class before it is too late, it is likely you've already passed the date where they will refund your money for the course. Still, better than wasting your time with a course for the semester and then ending up with an F on your record that you still had to pay for.

i wish i had taken advantage of the dropping class thing more during college. i only dropped one class, and it was in my last semester.
if they give you 5 drops.....FUCKIN' USE 'EM MATE!
im on a day release course, and ive been withdrawing for the last 4 weeks and i seriously regret it.. i did it because the college is 1 1/2 hour travelling by train and the ticket cost me 25 euro
hopefully ill catch up with class once im back!
I dropped 7 or so. No one cares.
I was thinking of doing the same, but in my case is two classes
I always wondered if it would hurt my GPA. Well in my case both of those classes are easy, like a dumbass i was to lazy to go class and i always skipped them

i, too, had to withdraw from one class (200+ student lecture class, the only grades being a midterm [which i tanked] and a final...wtf??)...
i don't think it's too bad to w/d from one or two classes, just don't make a habit of it.
wow thanks for reminding me I need to drop a class...my only class.
and you get a W on your transcript and it doesn't hurt you...unless you have like 30 of them.

So instead of getting an F and 0/3 for credits added to gpa, you get 0/0 added so it doesn't effect at all. Withdrawal date for me is friday, I gotta get there lol. |
