i loled hard at this title.

um..i dunno what to say about this, it kinda lacks drive

during the breakdown id throw a heavily compressed snare roll or something followed by a kick/crash combination, get a more agressive bassline as well.

check this link

i know its cheesy but it contains energy so ive been told.

"power" is a combination of things imo;- Reverb, eq, stereo image and the synth.

your melody synth is very thin as you say. i think the eq at the top end could be sharper and you could do with more of a punchy synth. some eq on the kick and bass synth would come in handy aswell. if you get this right balence you can make the track sound more pwerfull.

you have deffiantly got the right ideas for making a decent tune, its just the experience you need

all in good time

lovely breakdown. really builds well.

i used to have this problem. first off change the kick it lacks power and punch.

have a mid bass whichever progression you like. e.g:

_x_xx_x__x_xx_x_

but have an offbeat sub this helps with drive but wont do it on its own. i always use this pattern where the 'x' is an eighth note:

_ _x _ _ x _ _x _ _ x

i always remove leads from the low end where the bass hits so cut or use filters on your leads where the bass plays. make sure your kick is eqed so it punches and sits at the heart of the mix.

i always layer a punchy kick with a sub kick this also helps to create some drive in tracks.

try an make sure your low end isnt cluttered. i remove most synths from the low end if there is no need for them to be there.

i also noticed your percussion isnt very clear. have your clap really slapping with slight reverb on it. and the offbeat hi hat can help also.

these are some ideas i put into my tracks. might work for others. i think the main part is selecting the right sytnhs and percussion elements so they all work for the track.

Fuck no. Power is one thing and one thing only. Gain.

If you want something to sound more powerful - drive it harder. Or overdrive it.

If you are using a resonant low pass filter be aware that the resonance increases the amplitude of the frequency on and adjacent to the cutoff. So if you sweep it all the way open, you will set the cutoff past the audible range of human hearing and the whole sound will sometimes appear quieter. It depends on the design of the filter.

If you want to negate that effect, simply increase the channel gain (or use an overdrive) as you sweep the filter. You can automate it.

wat i usually do is automate teh res off once the filter is fully open. i notice what you mean especially on virus filters.

I personally think you have something really good here!!!

It does seem a bit void in some places - maybe a stronger pad? (only in some places) Other than that, this is leaps and bounds over what I can do today. Good work!!
