Most Over-rated Movies Within The Last Decade

Since there is a thread for favourite movies within the last 5 years and I am a HUGE critic I can not but help create a thread to bash the most over-rated movies within the last decade. List a reason why you thought the movie sucked hardcore as well.

To start:

Batman Begins (2005) -- While Christopher Nolan did bring the Batman saga back alive I can not help but say that he tried far too hard to impress and whilst he had much to live up to I felt this movie fell flat on its face in many repects. I very much enjoyed his dark atmosphere but nothing seemed original as he seemed to borrow elements from various movies such as The Crow. Apart from that his previous work Memento had me amazed that I had HUGE expectations for this movie.

LoTR Trilogy -- Whilst I have never read the books I do know for a fact it is one of the few book to movie adaptations that stay true to the context and to bring such books to life on the big screen was very hard to say the least. Personally though I just could not stay glued to the screen for 3+hrs for each film. That journey for Frodo must have been a long one but sitting thru this trilogy felt like an Eternity.

I don't think Snakes on a Plane was rated as a decent movie.

They just had AMAZING marketing behind the film.

But ever since i first heard of the movie, i thought it was oging to be crap.

Any of you guys do the Phone thing for Snakes on a Plane? You got to chose different options and a recording of Samuel L. Jackson would call whoever haha.

Absolutely hilarious!

Someone is smokin the good stuff, LOTR was amazing, probably the best set of movies since Star Wars.......

Batman Begins >>>>>>>Batman Returns, actually anything after the original

For me it would be:

Once upon a time in Mexico

Thin Red Line

Bottlerocket

War of The Worlds

Troy

oh and can't forget 8 Mile

I thought all three were pretty damn good. Guess you just have to like the content.

As for me:
The Departed (it was entertaining, nothing spectacular)
X-Men trilogy (third one just sucked hard)

Possibly one of the most over-rated movies of all time: Requiem for a dream. I came into this expecting so much. Maybe because so many of my friends hyped it up.

+ 1 Loved them both

For me i'd have to say:

1. War of the Worlds: Movie was bleh at best.

2. Matrix Trilogy: Yes the first one was great, but the second and third lost all their meaning. Too much action, not enough of the good stuff i saw in the first one.

3. Harry Potter: Loved the books, HATED the movies.

4. Castaway: lol what can i say, hated it.

5. Pearl Harbor: Another meh movie. Honestly thought it was going to be better

That movie was hilarious, even the way he drank his juice after he was workin out on his dancing, someone needs a better sense of humour

Troy: aka Brad Pitt musclefest. Oh and me trying to hold back my urge to strangle whiny Orlando Pitt

War of the Worlds sucked

Battlefield Earth sucked

lol well i think it's really a question of taste. This thread is bound to have conflicting opinions.

the departed! lol

i loved the plot but i felt like they could have done a much better job... too many loose ends.

Titanic - Propellar Guy gets a 10/10 though

Napolean Dynamite - NOT FUNNY! And no, I don't need a better sense of humour, they just needed to make the movie... you know... FUNNY! Stupid-funny hasn't been done properly since Hot Shots part Deux.

Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions - The first Matrix is great. The others are B movies.

Jet Li movies, especially Hero.
