PETITION: TA Top 250 the Offical Rankings

This is a petition to make the TA Top 250 poll the new official ranking system of DJs since we are not influenced by myspace messages and actually comprehend what EDM is all about. Please sign and feel free to talk smack about the "other" poll.

I second that 100%

comming from the point that dj sammy beat out Angello, Desyn Masiello, and Howells. Ours is flawd I agree... but it's not as bad as this years djmag rankings.

the ta one is just as bad in the fact that it's not about DJing ability, and there are hundreds of hardworking DJs who've given to the scene for upto 20 years, and won't get ranked because someone with a radio show once a month has got a few people to vote for them. The whole "ranking" thing is too flawed to be accurate.

Please.

I refuse to sign a petition that would make AvB #1

Furthermore, the best DJ isn't someone who plays to thousands of people at a fancy festival but a guy who's playing to maybe a small audience in a nice venue where he reads them perfectly & plays unusual but thoughtful tunes. Unpredictable, yet able to read the moood of what is wanted, rather than just hammering out the same stuff everyone else is

all that the TA list achieves is a measure of popularity within the site & it's userbase. trying to claim it as anything more is both pointless & stupid

You couldn't do it, it wouldn't stand up because it's a site for fans of trance... sure there are fans of other genres here but it would be unfair to the DJs of other styles

I second that... Armin has some decent productions, but in all honesty seeing him live is a huge dissapointment. My favorite genre of EDM is trance, and pretty much every other DJ I've seen in the top 100 this past year played better sets than him, house and electro DJ's included.

It seems very clear to me that the majority of people voted for their favorite producers in the trance addict poll. Neither one of the polls will be an exact science unless they were to make people prove they have seen at least 10 or so well known DJ's live in the past year before voting, and make it clear they are voting for best DJ, not producer.

no cause there both a bag of toss people on this site people must be thick dont people on this site realise how similar the results are between the 2 polls. The ta poll is about popularity just like the dj mag one just had to look at some of the stupidly shit reasons why people were voting for djs in the ta poll they went something like:
'he brought a good album out and liked his productions this year'
'i saw him once this year and was good so he must be the best dj in the world'

so i say ban both polls

No need to ban them, just ignore them, or adopt the belief that they are just popularity polls and we have to go through the same crap year after year after year after year after year...

why are you putting a petition in music discussion... what are you going to do send the current rating system a link to the forum thread saying, hey look we have 1000 people posting that want the dj voting to be here..

go create an online petition at http://www.petitiononline.com/petition.html

then link people to there.

it's useless. the TA list is just as much a popularity contest as DJ Mag is. the difference is just that there are more voters in the DJ Mag list and the TA one is limited to TA members.

Why should it be "official"?

First of all this is tranceaddict. This needs to be edmaddict so we really could say which is "best" = most popular dj in the world. And after that list would probably be too much the same than dj mag's list.

Secondly what guarantees that DJ's wouldn't spam in e-mail and in myspace to vote them 1000 times a day if TA top 250 would become official?

let's just stop making polls altogether.

The TA poll is just as shit. Most of this site know almost nothing that isn't uplifting trance.

Why? I think Dj Mag's was the better this year.
