http://www.residentadvisor.net/feature_view.asp?ID=770
that list shows how full of shit this top 100 chart really is
gets more comical as the years roll on
welcome to the myspace.
Is that the same DJ Dan from the US who put out Another Late Night years ago?
thank fuck electro is dead. Dave Clarke at 100 thats a bit LOL

shit, house DJ in the top 5? what is the world coming to?
has that been confirmed i still dont believe thats the true list
where's dirty south?
Wheres dirty south? Surely they are better than Above nad Beyond .
Ohh you kunt you beat me to it
pretty ordinary list if u ask me.
good to see Picotto/Umek/Chris Liebing in there.
its a crock of shite...
pftttt electro is far from dead JULES & PAULIE
hahaha

alot of trance in that list but its hardly something to get excited about as it's unlikely to influence australian shores.
i would say acquiviva is the highest electro/techno dj, he plays the good interesting stuff and a veteran of the scene who deserves that spot imo.
but in summary i dont like that list at all and electro will still dominate here

you know its bullshit when Christopher lawrence is at Number 4
paulie one good set from him is worth about 15 from anyone else - u aint seen it but yeah thats how i see it.
anywho yeah its all pretty much a bullcrap internet poll for comp00tah freaks and people who dont really wanna know better - but hey arent they the target audience here?
so yeah in summation there is so much trance in the top 50 its kinda ridiculous but i think it will affect oz - infact i think it already is.
(and yeah i have slightly pro trance views lol)
I've never paid attention to that list and I probably never will. Until me or soups makes it on there it's useless
wheres pkc? i thought hed of made it onto there by now...

hmmz i guess - but like i dunno - the bigger promoters look at this poll for names - then they book em. so then peeps goto gods and 2tribes or whatever it is now. but they only happen once every few months - in the meantime punters think geez id like to hear some more of that music:- and isnt that where the obsessions and interviews of this world (who have been growing steadliy) kick in?
i know its a lot more than that but surely this is a part of it?
Thats true, and it may help a little, but the guys who have moved up in the list apart from Van Doorn i think have all played here many time and Kyau and Albert once.
I guess the higher the position for the dj, that sort of determines whether they play at a festival or club night. I.e SVD (#32 new entry) at Future Festival, my argument is that its not going to bring more trance to Australia, rather just different djs
However, if these new artists can bring an innovative sound and justify their higher ranking then this may contribute to a rise in the trance scene. The PVDs, Armins and M.I.K.Es will continue to come and have for the last 4-5 years and do their thing but has it helped while the sound was out of favour?
Its not dissimilar to progressive, as its a specialised and unique sound.. the last few years have seen prog djs rise in their position of this poll and it has still faced a decline in the EDM world. This year, all of them have gone backwards (some to possible extinction), and its probably 2-3 years too late of actually where the sound is and represented throughout the world.
I think next year we are going to see all these electro djs/producers come through like Axwell and Angello have this year.
You and I agree that it all runs in cycles and fingers crossed its only 2-3 yrs away because by then Ill be 30
