Are you more clever than fans of The Lost Experience Game?

Hello guys,

I thought it's time for a little community game. If you're familiar with Lost Experience, the game was about finding the clues and putting them together. Partially based on TV series lost, partially on websites that the game creators have made.

Now it's time for musicians turn!

how will the game work? Every week you'll get a clue...in form of a an mp3 file...a sample...picture...maybe just a link to a website...and they will all be just clues to the final solution which will reveal you a mystery.

First clue will be here soon, so keep watching!

What skills are possible to be needed during the game? Kinda the same as in lost experience...there'll be anagrams, references to some of famous trance songs, passwords and links to websites...etc :-)

you'll have to see...and find

btw...you better know, that something what seems to be it, doesn't necessarilly mean that it's what it seems to be...

btw...I hope our mods will like the game and possibly make it a sticky...

now to the prizes:

1st person who will know the solution of the whole game after a series of clues and PM me...will be the smartest person on TA and will get free mastering services from me for 3 songs...

fair enough?

now you can start wondering, what the 1st clue will be !!!

have a good game

1st clue is at: http://thehole.djbooster.net/A_Tease_-_Shy_Sin.mp3

you need to know the key...

visible things don't always make sense,
to reveal the mystery,
one must look closely,
and look like it's not what it seems to be,
then you'll find the key.

Dig into the white rabit's hole

if you don't know...I will reveal the clue next week sometime

Posted by messytechie on Oct-26-2006 12:08:

is this a piss take?

Posted by BOOsTER on Oct-26-2006 12:20:

not at all...just a try for some community fun

btw...feel free to share your thoughts about the 1st clue

I'm sure you guys here are really smarter then people who participated in Lost: Experience

Posted by messytechie on Oct-26-2006 12:23:

i don't recognise the tune, and i dont understand the riddle

am i meant to find a website or something? or is there just an answer?

obv the white rabbits hole is an alice in wonderland thing?

Posted by BOOsTER on Oct-26-2006 12:25:

you should find the key...and the lock to put the key in...and you'll open the gate of white rabit's hole... :-)

if you want me to tell you more...I don't know if i should...it would ruin the game too fast...you have a song...it's an mp3...maybe there's just a bit more to it! Find it!

Posted by funkysouls on Oct-26-2006 12:29:

Sounds promising though i could only figure out the flute from Get off
err.. Also, The Thrillseekers tune

Posted by BOOsTER on Oct-26-2006 12:31:

look in the hole...

you'll find the key in the song.

maybe a thrillseekers fan could help you more lol

Posted by funkysouls on Oct-26-2006 12:41:

the tune is The Thrillseekers - Synaesthesia .. but it wont be so obivious

Posted by BOOsTER on Oct-26-2006 12:44:

youre on the right track... but you're going to need it a little later...find the lock now...

Posted by funkysouls on Oct-26-2006 12:53:

I feel .. anyone llz digging nuts :rofl

Posted by oFFbalaNce on Oct-26-2006 14:27:

if I get "No clue yet back soon", is that because i have the wrong answear or becuase there's no clue yet?

Posted by BOOsTER on Oct-26-2006 14:36:

w0w nice job offbalance...now keep it for yourself...

you've got the right key and went to the right lock...but there's nothing to appear yet...remember the password and the place...and check back soon!

congrats! :-)

EDIT: ok...next clue is up...if you want you can help hinting the others...but please don't give them exact instructions...you're now in the introduction part of the whole game.

i dont get it

so thrillseekers track. i look up thrillseekers and the name of the track

Posted by BOOsTER on Oct-26-2006 16:07:

there's far too many hints already dear dj_kane go hunt them

Posted by BOOsTER on Oct-27-2006 09:39:

ok, lets make it faster here's the solution for the first one.

quote:
and look like it's not what it seems to be,
then you'll find the key.

this refers to the fact that an mp3 file doesn't always have to have only sound data inside...open the MP3 with a text editor and you'll find more.

quote:
I love theskull.com

that's just a reference to a site where you can find an ascii to binary converter (and will be usefull in the next step)

between the lots of mess in binary code at the end of the MP3 file you will find:
quote:
there is a message somewhere in the hole...find it and decrypt it! if you're able to do so, you will have next clue

you should be able to get from this that it's a reference to the download server you've got MP3 from (thehole.djbooster.net)

at the hole you will find a message which is partially in binary code, telling you that it's now safe to login at http://rabbithole1.djbooster.net and password being an anagram to the MP3 title.
The anagram on it's own is kinda hard to solve...that's why I did a reference to Thrillseekers Synaesthesia in the song...

The password is "synaesthesia"
and you can login with it at: http://rabbithole1.djbooster.net

there will be only 2 more tasks...one of them being final help with the proofs to get Dharma people busted.

Now let's go hunting more!

oFFbalaNce - currently has 1 point (and is propably on the way to get the second one) so you all better start digging more into it

have fun!

P.S.: Currently there might be problem reaching the sites, it will be fixed asap...but...hahaha it's nice that you have to wait, isn't it?

Posted by oFFbalaNce on Oct-27-2006 10:13:

No it's not fun to wait, it's frustrating, I'm at work and I'm bored! ;(

Posted by BOOsTER on Oct-27-2006 10:17:

haha...

everything is up...

rabbit has more than one hole...always...

have fun solving the finale :-) I'm off for lunch

The winner will be first person to complete the final task :-)

Posted by BOOsTER on Oct-28-2006 17:03:

time to end.

Winner: Pudelko
First Runner-up: OFFbalance

congrats to you guys, and Mr. Pudelko, please if you come here...and explain the last clues thanks.

I hope you had fun with this little game...I'm sorry I had to wind it off so quickly...but I just couldn't get one thing I needed for more developed one...let's say this is a test...and maybe we will have a chance next time to play a more developed game...if you feel like making it, please contact me, we could team up for it...

P.S.: Dear winner, please claim your prize soon.

Posted by Pudelko on Oct-29-2006 17:09:

Hey,
In all honesty I dont know if I deserve this because it seemed to me after I won that the first task was harder then the second. But anyways here is the answer to the part I got:

Seems like the sites are down, so this may not be the exact correct answer, but its the best I could do from memory

Once you enter Synaesthasia into the http://rabbithole1.djbooster.net/
You go to another site that tells you that the rabbit has more then one hole. So I changed the site to http://rabbithole2.djbooster.net/
and that led me to the next clue. This is where it gets foggy . This is where it tells you another site that requires a password. It gives you the username as brennan and the password as an anagram:
DEL IRD. I unscramble the anagram to read RIDDLE and typed it in with the username provided. Then it lead me to another site with a photo of some packages with scorpions on them. It also said to click on a link and fill in my email and username of TA. I did this and expected to recieve something through email telling me what the next task is. But to my surprise I got an email telling me I won . So that was pretty much it. Like I said if the clue for the first part wasnt provided I would have never thought to open the MP3 as a text file and would never have gotten to the second part most likely. Now after reading the thread it seems like the runner up found this on his own. So Booster, I am willing to give away the prize to him. Like I told you through email, I dont think Ill be needing the mastering anytime soon. So if he needs it he can take it, or at least we could split it up so we each get 1 or something. It was a fun game. Thank you for creating it!

Posted by BOOsTER on Oct-29-2006 17:29:

nicely modest to say:-)

ok guys...you'll each get 1 song mastered...

when you need it, contact me on my mail booster at centrum.cz

Winners: Pudelko & OFFbalance

great... :-) now I wonder if anyone would want another part of the game? or maybe another one from the ground up...with maybe better prizes etc...feel free to share your thoughts please...

I will see if I can develop a nice new story which will be more developed
