1 Paul van Dyk - PVD has retained his crown as the world�s number one DJ in 2006. The German trancer remains top dog for the second year running.


2 Armin van Buuren - After spending three years at No.3, Dutch trance star Armin has beaten the mighty Ti�sto to second place. His hard work continues to pay off.


3 Ti�sto - Three times No.1 DJ Ti�sto remains one of the world�s biggest spinners, capable of filling stadiums with his epic Dutch trance sounds.


4 Christopher Lawrence - North American trance don Lawrence is leading the scene Stateside and is increasingly present on the global stage. He�s climbed up 10 places since last year.


5 DJ Dan - US jock Dan wins the �Highest House DJ� accolade this year. Although something of a dark horse in Europe, in the States he�s huge.


6 Ferry Corsten - Ferry has had a number of big hits over the years, and 2006 was a great year for him - his album received critical acclaim the world over.


7 Sasha - Sasha is the highest placed British DJ in this year�s poll, and still one of the world�s biggest. He played at Sonar in Barcelona for the first time in 2006.


8 Digweed - Diggers has been in the Top 10 for years, and has constantly strived to inject new sounds into his sets. He�s a true renaissance man.


9 Above & Beyond - The DJ/production trio are one of the main acts breathing new life into the trance scene. It�s no surprise they have finally broken into the Top 10.


10 Deep Dish - The Washington-based duo fill clubs the world over, and have won many awards over the years whilst remixing the likes of Madonna.

OMG you are right. This is down right sad. He better be 101 because he is damn well one of the best DJs in the world.

man that's funny u mention that because i needed to look at it twice to be sure...how the fuck can j00f not even be in the top 20, or 50 if u wanna allow for the fact that he's not quite as well known. that's some b.s. right there.

again WTF?????????? how can that list possibly not have JOOF on it? and they list dj sammy and can't even list john!!!!!!! i put no stock in that list, john kills it every time, he packs LA and SF clubs each visit, people are amazed by his talent and have a wonderful time at his shows. his mixing is flawless, his productions are top notch and he has more energy than almost any dj out there!!! i do hope that clubs and promoters don't book based on that list b/c i have to say that would be very disappointing indeed.

on a happier note, right on for CL, he definitely deserves it, his shows just get better and better.

Infected Mushroom dominates Mexico, Brazil, Israel, Costa Rica, and Japan. They have a following in those countries that most DJs can only dream of.

and that is why this list is completely bogus. americans typically have the worst taste in music. as well as cars/fashion/films/books/presidents and anything else you can think of. but to each their own. if i made my top 10 list it would be all french dj's. it sucks that promoters look to this list when booking talent because there are a lot better dj's out in this world than tiesto. i can't hate on tiesto because it's not his fault he keeps getting voted on there. he has the right people that market him in the right way. that is why he gets paid 20,000 dollars a nite and that is why he has a shoe deal and that is why it doesn't matter if he can beatmatch or not because there is more to being a dj than beatmatching. if we made a list of the top 100 dj's with SKILL then more than half of these jokers wouldn't even be on there. trance happens to be the most popular form of edm and that's why it's usually trance dj's @ the top. but i guarantee if you had this same poll in france/germany/u.k. it would prolly be a lot different.
