Israeli intelligence uncovered most of the details of Iran's involvement in the July 1994 bombing of the Jewish community center in Buenos Aires that left some 100 people dead and 250 wounded. The details include an account of a meeting of the Iranian Supreme Council for National Security at which the decision to go ahead with the bombing was made. Israel also has the name of the bomber, Ibrahim Hasin Baro, a Hezbollah man, as well as the transcript of his farewell phone call to Lebanon. >source<

Iran strongly rejects Argentine prosecutors accusation Iran strongly rejected Argentine prosecutor charges against former high-level Iranian officials over the 1994 bombing of a Jewish centre in Buenos Aires. We reject the allegations of Argentinas Justice, said Mohammed Ali Hosseini spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Affairs ministry, adding that the Islamic Republic of Iran has been and is victim of many attacks, according to a release Thursday in Teheran from the official news agency IRNA. Its essential that Argentine officials avoid repeating errors committed in the past with apocryphal documents and listen to all opinions, underlined the Ali Hosseini. Argentine prosecutors are calling for the arrest of former Iranian President Hashemi Rafsanjani and seven other top officials including of the then Minister of Foreign Affairs and the head of Intelligence. Iranian authorities are accused of directing Lebanese militia group Hezbollah to carry out the attack in downtown Buenos Aires, killing 85 people and injuring 300. Speaking on state radio, foreign ministry spokesman Mohammad Ali Hoseyni said: "The new fabrications are conducted within the framework of a Zionist plot." Mr Hoseyni said the charges were intended to divert "world attention from the perpetration of crimes by the Zionists against women and children in Palestine". The blast, on 18 July 1994, reduced the seven-storey Jewish-Argentine Mutual Association (AMIA) community centre to rubble. No one has ever been convicted of the attack, but the current government of President Nestor Kirchner has said it is determined to secure justice. Argentine Jewish groups have long said the bombing bore the hallmarks of Iranian-backed Islamic militants. However Iran has repeatedly and vehemently denied any involvement in the attack. Last November, an Argentine prosecutor said a member of Hezbollah was behind the attack and had been identified in a joint operation by Argentine intelligence and the FBI. But Hezbollah said that the man, Ibrahim Hussein Berro, had died in southern Lebanon while fighting Israel. http://www.mercopress.com/Detalle.asp?NUM=9075

The men of the Vincennes were all awarded combat-action ribbons. Lustig, the air-warfare co-ordinator, won the navy's Commendation Medal for "heroic achievement," noting his "ability to maintain his poise and confidence under fire" that enabled him to "quickly and precisely complete the firing procedure."[10] The Legion of Merit was presented to Rogers and Lustig on 3 July 1988, according to a 23 April 1990 article in The Washington Post. The citations did not mention the Iran Air flight. It should be noted that the Legion of Merit is often awarded to high-ranking officers upon successful completion of especially difficult duty assignments and/or last tours of duty before retirement.

And somehow Hard Core will say its AMERICA's fault!!
Or he will say he is not religious,,,, always with an excuse other than the people he gets all upset about, that the Americans and Jews are killing and raping. Like Muslims can do no harm. They are a peaceful religion,
its time the Muslim religion has its one "reformation" much like Christanity had. These dogs that have killed in the name of it and the people that support these radical rulers need to be all drug out into the street and hung out to dry.
But Not by America, but by thier own people. How long can the people of the Muslim world accept this?? How long will they continue to let feable minded people that by thier own actions; has made the religion a luaghing stock. Muslims were once thought of as honest, wonderful peace loving people who would give thier shirt off of thier back to a stranger or people. But now, cause of thier inactions to police themselves, well its pretty focking sad.
And please do not pull :"its AMerica and the west's policies that is causing this." out of this,

Originally posted by Omega_M How do you see a parallel between a premeditated act of violence by a Government and an incident, which to a large extent, seems to have been dependent on the psyche of stressed out men on a battleship under battle conditions and under the command of an over zealous officer ? And, do you expect a country to own up for its mistakes against an enemy with whom it is engaged in a conflict ?

Originally posted by Cyrus King To my knowledge.. there was never an "outright" military conflict between the US and Iran. stop backpeddling

The Iranian government believed at the time, and has repeatedly claimed since, that the Vincennes knowingly shot down a civilian aircraft. At the time of the incident, the US Navy was carrying out Operation Praying Mantis against Iran - directly attacking Iranian Naval vessels and installations and Iranian off-shore oil facilities. In effect, Iran and the USA were in outright military conflict. Iran thus regarded the USA as being an open military ally of Saddam Hussein's Iraq and feared the US would expand its naval war with Iran into attacks on Iran's soil. The Iranian government believed at the time of the incident that the attack was intended as a warning to Iran that if it didn't agree some form of armistice in the near future with Iraq, the USA would itself directly attack the Iranian mainland and Iranian civilians in order to assist Iraq. |

Originally posted by Omega_M Christ, read up your own source before accusing me of backpedaling. So I call it an incident of war more than a plot by "sick" American terrorists. How does it even compare with the planned bombing in Argentina by Iran's Supreme Council with the aid of Hizbollah, a terrorist organization ? No it doesn't.
