Mormons on TA.?
Any here.?
I had a few Mormon kids stop by my house a while back. Even though imo they are too wacked with thier religion, they were very nice & polite. We had a good conversation.
me. and before i get dumped on for following any religion nevertheless being mormon, just remember that alot of you have talked to me for the last 3 years without it ever being an issue and not all mormons try to recruit you like the army.
Oh ya i did a lil reading on Mormons too & im convinced Joe Smith was a conman that wanted to score some coin. & whats with the multiple wives thing & 50 yr old men marrying 12 yr old girls. Fucking sick if you ask me, but i think thats the radical twisted mormons that do that, but i dunno, some1 fill me in.
i had 2 mormon friends in highschool.. 1 chica and 1 guy
the guy eventually started going crazy and drinking with us, while the chica kinda kept it chill and never did anything fun.. but she was fun to talk to in class
for some reason they were obsessed with going to byu
i guess its a big mormon school or something.

But like i said, they were really nice kids that i spoke with & we had a great convo. But what abt that multiple wives thing.? Also i read somewhere that Mormons think aliens or something put some gold book in the mountains. After some war when the roman empire was invading North America like 1000 years b4 Columbus. Is that another radical version of Mormons or do all Mormons believe that.? |

I feel bad that that is all you know about the mormon religion, and to be honest, some of those things stemmed from truths- mormons practiced polgamy in the 1800's not since. if you want to know why look it up from a reliable source. |
I don't and can't believe in religions. I respect those who can, until they try to push their thoughts onto me. then I convert them
the way my bro explained it the mormons are like a cult. apparently you acheive a higher level by donating more money. i think its possible to not like the mormons and still like weiner.
yeah you will hear them refer to themselves as mormons, they are called "the fundamentalist church of jesus christ of latterday saints" (flds) mormons are "the church of jesus christ of latterday saints" (lds) basically if you aren't lds, it's pretty damn hard to tell the diffrence when you turn on the tv and some weird ass colony and their childmolester leader is prancing around "yep, we're mormon"

I believe in some form of superior being or soemthing, but I think religion has been turned into a corporation, I still havent found a religion/sect/cult/movement that I can identify with my values

I've seen things on tv where there are these little "mormon towns" where some weird shit goes on (kids getting beat, sexually abused, etc.) basically because they can do whatever they want since no one wants to go into their secluded towns. It usually takes a while for some kid to speak up and the police to actually go in and investigate.
My whole gripe with the Mormons and other religions similar to them is that it's completely ok to have a religion and everything but don't obsess on it and make it your entire life about it...give yourself some freedom and time away from stuff like that so you can actually enjoy your damn life, because it's too short.
Along with multiple wives they also say you should have as many kids as possible. The reason is simple. Most kids grow up to believe what their parents teach them. So if you have this new religion, the easiest way to make it grow is through your kids. Once it got a foothold, they change their stand on polygamy. Similar reasons for catholic leaders saying birth control is bad.
