What happened to Pole Folder?

I haven't heard too much from him this year, and what I have heard hasn't been very memorable. I know he made a mediocre remix of Andrew Kelly - She Thinks She's Underground, and that he released the "For One Moment of Glory" EP of which I only like the Mashtronic remix of Everyday.

So what happened to him? He sounds altogether boring and far-removed from his 2005 Zero Gold-esque sound.

He also did a very interesting, somewhat tougher, remix of Knix - Electric Poetry.
If you didn't like his EP on Mashtronic, you probably won't like Pole Folder - Over either. It's on the new Audio Therapy Autumn Winter Edition.

Not sure if I've heard that Knix remix, but I'm interested in hearing all of the stuff you mentioned. I just loved the Zero Gold album and the sound he had on that and what he's producing and remixing these days seems rather dry in comparison.

His album stuff was quite different to the work that came before it also. In regards to what has happened - nothing has. He's just been spreading his wings, doing some different stuff and experimenting a bit. He's got a few collaborative ventures in the works, has finally got back in the studio to do some stuff with CP, and is already working on a second album and a few other projects.

Can't blame him for wanting a change after spending two years or so doing that album, and for all the people that don't like his new stuff because it's far removed from the old, there are many others that do, and his stuff gets support and attention from many DJs that were never into his older stuff, so it's all swings and roundabouts really.

Fear not, he's not totally changed his sound, so there will be more to come shortly that will keep long time fans happy, including an EP on Hope Recordings amongst other things.

Saw him down at Love Parade SF in September. Had a pretty good set going on the float, but the generator kept spazzing out and dying during it. I ended up snagging a cd full of sets from him because I was the only person who'd stayed for his entire set. Real nice guy.

His remix to electric poetry (unbelieveable track btws), while short of the original is very nice. Some of the layers he has added could definently go, the distorted voice from the original for one.

Pole needs to become less self absorbed. then perhaps his music will breath new life again.

A Million Ways To Give Up is probably one of the best songs of the year
it has everything, a powerfull bassline and wonderful melodies
The samples of "Over" promise a lot
