Olav Basoski denied entry into the USA

This Saturday October 28 the largest indoor dance event of the USA, Monster Massive, is happening in Los Angeles, California.
Like last year, I was invited to play at this incredible music festival.

Thanks to the incomprehensible rules for artist visas to the USA, I was denied entry into the USA for this weekend. This space is too small to explain the entire situation, but what it comes down to is that I will not be coming to Los Angeles.

It truly makes me feel sorrow to break this news to you. First and foremost for all of you who emailed me about being so excited that I would be coming back to the festival this year, but also for myself. Seeing the chance to return to the greatest housemusic event I've ever played at blow up right in front of me due to absurd and baffling regulations at the USA immigration is beyond words.

My management and I have done everything we could to still make this happen, but no luck.

Monster Massive has an amazing line-up again this year, so for those of you who plan on going, enjoy, go crazy!

wtf stupid american shite again

he should come play in the uk more, if you can't get in here you're shit, since most nationalities have

reminds me of garnier

srsly, too bad cos it takes time and effort to get in. it's not like the us is really special anyway.

Posted by Ian on Oct-29-2006 19:28:

you miss the point. Olav has been before, and obviously had the necessary paperwork to do so, but there is some reason now why he can't return. That's not fair, not only to the guy who's only trying to do a job for people but to the people who want to see him.

Posted by Allied Nations on Oct-29-2006 19:46:

Tripwire wasn't allowed in a while back too.

They don't like people who come in, take money and leave without paying taxes.

Our airport security is wank. If people want to blow up planes, they're going to do it anyway. Theres no need to have these retarded restrictions.

+1. That's not to say that plots to blow up airliners haven't been foiled since the rules came into force -- they have -- but they haven't been caught by a TSA agent shuffling through t-shirts and toiletries at the security line-up. They've been prevented thanks to intelligence and police work before the person even gets to an airport.

you guys should research shit before believing what you read.
the announcement made on that website is incredibly one sided.
he was denied entry into america because of one outstanding infraction incurred in the netherlands on his account.
now research that.

No doubt. Press releases are almost always one-sided.

But I still don't see how there's a point in this case.

well, i dont think he was mad, but like washout said, he had an infraction that he didnt take care of in the netherlands, so its his fault. it doesnt matter that its our country that he is coming to, why would we get mad bout that when its olav's fault. that event was sick last night though

i havent been able to find anything on this event that he was talking about. btw i wasnt trying to get anyone made with that comment a few posts up just saying that the reason he was saying that is because it was his contry that olav couldent get into and if it had been anouther contry he probably would have not even looked into it. i would like 2 c where he found out about that thing in the netherlands though.

This is appears to be an immigration matter, not an airport security matter.

It is hardly an upheaval though. The process as far as the passenger is concerned if arriving on the Visa Waiver programme is only marginally different. The fingerprinting takes about 25secs maximum!

It's hardly a bitch.
