Does Anyone know about laws???

So last year I lived in Germany, and I did a contract with a mobile phone company.

The contract was for 2 years, but the fucking seller said me it was not a problem if I closed the contract after only one year. However the problems came when I wanted to close the contract after the year.

They said me that I must write a letter and then they will see the case. I wrote the letter but the fact is that now I'm in Spain and the company is reclaming me money... I don't know if I'm lucky with that but they are sending the letters to my girlfiends house in Mexico, so they don't have my real adress.

I don't know what to do, if to talk with them and pay or just wait and don't pay.

Any advice?

these are quite hard to get out of here in the states. not sure about abroad but here in the states they are VERY specific in the language they use to pretty much rip you a new asshole.

Damn you're screwed. If you don't pay they could deport you back to Germany. I'm serious

(who asks for legal advice on a forum...the core of all places?)

the seller told u it was possible but when u got the contract did u read it even the small lines?

usually there are some clauses in case of a contract's breach ....by the will of only one of the people who contracted ....so u basically broke the contract before the legal ending so at least here in our system of law u would have to pay maybe not for the subscription but more because u caused to this compagny some tort (financial tort) so i think aint sure cuz im not familiar with german law but i think u have to pay in any case

I had the same thing with o2 in germany. I was able to get out of it b/c i was a student and not an EU citizen.

Wow and I thought it was tough here in Australia. All we need to do is phone the provider and ask for it to be disconnected. If it's under a contract then you'll need to pay the remainder of the contract out but that's it.

Feel sorry for you guys.

and what did you do? just send a letter and explain that?

I think if you don't pay they leave you after a while, but then you cannot open a contract with any phone company in the EU. something like you are in a black list.

PDD would be a better place for question like that. By PDD I mean Political Discussion/Debate forum
