Which soundcard is needed to dj?
So guys what kind of sound card would i need to be able to dj, will this do good? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...N82E16829102163
What is it that you're trying to do? If you wanna DJ with a computer, what software are you planning on using? Both Serato & Torq & Final Scratch come with their own proprietary audio interface and no sound card is needed.
you don't need a soundcard to dj, you need turntables/cdjs and a mixer
Sorry for not posting enough info...
But i am planning to connect a mixer to the soundcard which i posted in my first post, and i want to start with Virtual Dj first (Yes I am a noob)
How much do you want to spend?
Sorry. I just looked at the link you provided on the sound card you had questions about. Yes, that will do. I started on that with Traktor DJ I think if I can remember right. Now I have a M-Audio external soundcard that I am really happy with. I am using cd decks for mixing, but I use it for recording and I have been really happy with it. If you have the money to spend check out M-Audios stuff here >http://www.m-audio.com/
Rock On,

Thank you for all of your helpful advice guys!
Well am probably going to order the sound card tomorrow along with the Sennheiser HD280 headphones and the Numark DXM06.
hey i have sb x-fi fps
i am also trying to hook up a mixer to virtualdj too
lol we both know mouse clicking just won't do it
i asked this on virtualdj's forum
they said we need a mixer that supports midi and needs two sound cards
see: http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/589...irtual_dj_.html
So can i just use my onboard sound card inputs and but that soundcard which i posted before? And does each sound card need a midi input or just one of them?
Thanks!
You're better off buying a Soundcard that utilize two outputs. M Audio offers a good amount options for your needs.
Using the stock Soundcard is generally not a good idea unless quality isn't the factor.
I use two M - Audio 2496s for PCDJ (I only need PCDJ for Weddings & Corporate stuff) and it offers good quality.
Not to mention offering RCA outs which is all is needed when using a Mixer requiring RCA inputs is a plus IMHO.
I guess i can try and get the M - Audio 2496 i saw them on ebay for 80 each i think.
Mine came with Ableton Live Lite 4. But, thats was when
4 was the current version.
You might want to check their website, and see if they are
offering a newer version bundled with the 2496.
