what do you do when buying tracks

it takes me a few hours to gather up tracks so I find my self sitting at my desk listening to a ton of samples and refreshing TA looking for something cool while the samples are playing, but alas, i always get bored.

anyone do anything cool while sampling tunes? I sure as crap dont do anything.

Picture yourself djing while listening to the track. Could you get into it while sitting behind the decks?

i think the question is rather that how do you find out about the tunes you want and how do you know you want them.

and as for the question i can't really answer because i've been really crap at buying new tunes in the last year or so. i'm just way too busy with other stuff to really seek new tunes properly.

lol, I do that too but sometimes a track sounds great when your fucked up and when your sober, you ask why the hell u bought that track. On the other hand, if it sounds good while you are fucked up, it should work for u playing out...I guess u can't win, hehe.

Posted by Zombie0729 on Nov-03-2006 21:11:

uhh, make a note where they would sound good in a mix, opening, ending, middle, filler whatever... make notepad files for each... ie.

main time:

jaytech - manipulator

opening time:

james talk

then i just put what key their in and burn them accordingly?

you my friend have a.d.d. but who doesn't?

Yeah...my problem isnt usually that I buy bad tracks, its that when baked I'll hit up chillout section and end up with 10 great tracks that I'll never play out

Why can't you play those out?!

Posted by Boomer187 on Nov-04-2006 06:45:

i make notes after I buy the tracks. I am talking about when you are sifting through samples. You just click preview and you get a 2 minute sample er so. I get bored after like 10 samples. I don't listen to every sample all teh way through, its just some songs I have to listen to the full 2 minutes to decide if its worth it.

so while im listening to samples I refresh TA like crazy and that gets old. just wondering if anyone does anything while listening to samples.
