HBO Hacking Democracy

Well I feel much better and I hope the rest of the country now will demand better voting machines.

I've been called every name in the book because I and many other didn't trust the machines, well folks they just did it on HBO and showed how easy it is to change the leaders of this ONCE great country.

Now how long till the neocons comeback saying it was all smoke and mirrors......

>>>>EDIT<<<<
My mistake in the title, buzzed.

simple report:
They change votes using the EXE file on the memory card in front some election of people, some broke down and cried after seeing it done.

Um, details about the show? You didn't give me much to go on.

So nobody saw the show?

if you saw it and still think the voting is real then your on some really good drugs and please send them to me asap. Hell even my hardcore
neocon friends were at a lost for words after seeing just how easy it was to change the voters choice. Then you have on vid. showing them throwing out the logs of the votes- thats against FEDERAL LAW.

Sad to say the least at the lack of comments.....

I know, have others here not seen this yet or something? I already knew about how flawed and 'rig-prone' electronic voting was way before the docu was aired, thanks to ogvh5150 for posting info on voting machines quite a while ago (which some people dimissed as "conspiracy theory" back then ).

actually if people would take the time,I think they would have more questions to make a better informed decision. eof looking up more info. I always knew in the back of my mind "maybe" some behind door tatics won him that Florida, but now after watching that program, wow! "maybe: has just moved to "i can understand" cause the country would of fallen into the pitz of HELL!!!! ha ha ha

great story . check it out..

I saw similar stuff after the Florida debacle including interviews with people that swore under oath about the flaws of the e-voting system and how it could be fiddled with.
What suprises me more is the apathy of US citizens too at least be wary at the fundamental level of democratic process by not demanding a revision of the ballot collection.

I watched that whole thing and actually had many of my fears somewhat alleviated. I was more afraid of hidden conspiracies in which votes could be changed or rigged by people other than those handling the equipment at the time of the election or even by programs hidden within the code itself. My other fear was the complete elimination of a true paper trail by the widespread use of touchscreen machines.

However the video provided no real evidence for either of those fears but rather showed that the electronic way of voting is not as secure as everyone said it was. The tampering of votes by the people in charge of the voting process and in physical possesion of the voting equipment and ballots is going to be a risk and concern no matter what type of voting procedures and methods you use. The video also impled that optical scanners of paper ballots were still in widespread use.
