What mixing software to use?

Hey guys.

I know this may have being asked a trillion times but after a search around i couldnt find what i was looking for.

So im looking for a basic mixing software that will allow me to just fade tracks in and out of eachother and will maybe allow beatmatch..

I will even settle for a manual live recording software that i can fade traks in and out while making long compilations.

Any software around like this floating free??

I used very simple step one called Wave pad, but it expires as its a trial.

Any help at all is mot apreciated.
btw if no free examples are available anyone could point me in right direction of a pay one that will suit my basic needs?
