Don't worry about it too much. Unless you know for a fact that you scratched the record, most of the time adjusting your tonearm weight to the right amount for that record will fix your problem. If you have poor quality headphones, then it can be hard to distinguish between certain frequencies, making it hard for you to hear the bass kick.

It is very important to invest in a good vinyl cleaning kit to make sure your records always produce the best sound quality. I give each of my records a good wipe down before i spin them.

Thanks Kevin.

Ill try to get a Cleaning Kit soon.

Don't worry, CarlosM! Your Lost Vagueness record is probably not damaged. I think a little cleaning will do; just clean them before and after every spin!
By the way, where did you get your Oliver Lieb mix of that one? I want it too!

Thanks for Your Reply,... Well... i Bought the Record to a friend that traveled to NY, but i searched and is in Replayrecords and Junorecords, mines is the version of US that has 4 remixes: Oliver Lieb main mix, Deadly Avenger "Infantile" vocal mix, Central club remix edit, Josh Wink "Deep Interpretation" mix,... the US version is in the JunoRecords, that is the one that contain Oliver Lieb, i think the ones at ReplayRecords doesnt has the Oliver Lieb Remix, and the Oliver Lieb Mix is the one that Worth,... so... be carefull at the time to buy, dont wanna buy without OL Remix.

See ya.

yeah the best mix is the oliver lieb mix but does anyone know if there are still vinyls available somewhere that had the oliver lieb dub? the dub version is the one tiesto keeps playing.

Dumb question, but what's the difference between the dub version and the OL Mix version?

Posted by DJTJ on Mar-22-2002 13:31:

The dub version doesn't have the vocals and has an extra melody-type bit over it. Apart from that, it's the same as the OL Main mix.

yah dude unless you scratched it don't worry. that record has allot of strange chimes and backround sounds -- you may just be mixing it up.

and YES get the DUB man.. OL DUB mix. the melody kicks ass in it. i actually got my hands on a 2lp set like 3 months before tiesto started playing it. its the set that has lieb main mix, lieb dub mix, and some josh wink mixes. im not a josh wink fan but it was well worth it for the lieb mixes.

i recomment gruv glide personally to clean. it de-statics, so you don't have to always clean -- and it comes with these great pads which u can use to wipe em down each play. also pick up some d-4 cleaning solution cuz that works wounders on greasy fingerprints -- not that you should be touching the groves on the record anyway.. stick to the outside and the inside.. but i usually d-4 a record when i first get it and the bastard record shoppers got grease all over it
