Review: PUR Supper Club - Friday, Nov 3

What a great night!

This place has some real potential...it had the feel of a "house party". Lots of friendly and familiar faces. great 4th floor space!

Once again boys and girls...THIS TOWN HAS SOME AMAZING LOCAL TALENT...and they deserve our support!

We were well represented by Jeff and Ray...some kick ass tunes.

The sound needs some tuning (to be kind) but, the the more crowded it got, the less the bass pulsed through my feet and out my head!

Lots of TIL wannabees showed up with their horror stories...

So to recap...

The good:

The DJs and track selection
$5.00 cover
great group of people
An alternative to TIL on Fridays (the novelty has worn off)

The not so good:

The sound quality
The wine (very salty...like it was recycled!)

The funny:

Rachel trying to find our TA alter egos in the Houseaddict crowd
My boyfriend's re enactment of "A weekend at Bernie's"
Sarah outlasting Tristan...AGAIN!
The numer of Chocolate Egg farmers in the room
The coat check pile
And Rylan's Italian guy

Awesome awesome crowd! I loved the "family" vibe that we had going, even though the TA and HA crowd seemed a little seperated, sort of like recess in grade school. The girls played on one side, the boys on the other. Other than that though, it was wicked times. Great sets by all the DJ's, as always, but I gotta say Irgo played the set of the night last night.

I could definately see this being my regular Friday night spot, seeing as I don't have anywhere else to go really.

Looking forward to next week

Well a night of just dropping in turned out to me playing a few tracks which was a very nice gesture of Ray. Nice to meet a few new faces on here as well.

Great tunes, even if I did keep getting distracted by the big screen...Jeff, where was the remote?!?!? hahaha

Nice meeting you. As for the wine, shitty it was awful. I hope next time they keep the bar open even after 2...tried getting a redbull only to be told it was closed, (the entire bar). Overall I had a blast, I will see if I can drop by next week.

Great times AGAIN - honestly, I am all about watching our boys in venues like that, far better for me than TiL et al.

Dan, fucking hilarious is all I can say, I spent the whole night in stitches!

When Kevin walked in, Rylan said, "I have just gone up to Mark and said 'hi John'". I said, "Which Mark".

He pointed at Kevin.

Bahahahahahahahha

Thanks Jeff and Ray for keeping our end well and truly up! See you next week....

That was a fun one!!

The music was sick all night. Every one of the djs played perfectly, its just too bad the dj booth is hidden away under the stairs. This needs to be changed, big time. Its a let down to hit a peak in the music and look over and all you see is the back of the DJs head.

The crowd was amazing, especially considering all the other parties last night. Not only was everyone friendly, but I felt that everyone who was there sincerely wanted the night to be a success. I think its well past time to get our groups together, to represent our scene as one, and Pur is the ideal venue to get that done.

At the peak of the night with approx 100+ people, the dancefloor was full, and there was still plenty of room to sit, smoke on the balcony, and walk around. Although Pur is setup as a lounge, I think with a bit of changes, we could have a very nice little club on our hands.

One suggestion to the owners, please, the drinks need to be a bit cheaper. I overheard a lot of people mention the drinks were too much last night.

This Is Going To Be A Weekly Event!!!
I will be playing alongside Jeff Breen, & Korhan next Friday, Nov 10th. Come check it out!!
