Why is NewAge music so appealing ?

Why is New Age music so appealing, especially to a lot of edm fans ?

Ppl like Enya and Enigma... pefect music for times you want something mellower..

It's good for secs.

But's I'd double the bpm, add thumps and maybe a hi hat, and a looping chorus, and I'd have a hit.

i agree, new age is like vocal/melodic trance, stripped down to its basic elements at around 90 bpm or so.
