Sasha, Digweed and Requesting Songs

Seeing Sasha and Diggers tomorrow, i know its fairly unlikely that they'll play any of their classics such as Heaven Scent or Scorchio, but what would be their reaction if you requested them?

I think their reactions would be either:
- no way, we don't do requests
- no, those songs are classics, our sound has moved on so much since then (and they may not like that you dont seem to be up with the times with what they're playing)

What about more recent stuff like On My Own, or Minilogue - The Girl From Botany Bay?

I know some of you probably think that people who request songs are idiots or whatever...

you don't request tracks to sasha and digweed.

They're more than likely thinking 'If we had a pound every time some moron requested this track, we could retire very rich men.' People in the room are there to hear what Sasha & Digweed want to play, not you. Don't do it.

yep, was thinking that

While he was out having a smoke, some ass asked Sasha if he was going to play Xpander back in March at a 300 person venue. Sasha just looked at him, and said "It's not really the right sort of venue for that."

I asked Digweed to play Robin S - Show Me Love...and he totally did. Best $5 I ever spent.

diggers played the original stonebridge club mix of show me love?

'ckin hell, that'a something i wanted to see.

I can see Digweed playing a something thats been requested. Sasha on the other hand wont. He is just an asshole.

Posted by idoru on Nov-05-2006 21:52:

I don't try requesting tunes from DJs, ever. I dunno why, it just bugs me when people do that.

As far as Digweed's reaction to being asked to play Heaven Scent, have you even heard his sets as of recently? In June and he wasn't playing anything near the style of Heaven Scent, yet at least 20 people started begging for it as soon as his set was done. He wasn't an asshole about it, he just laughed and said no, but still... That's a tune that you just don't request.

uhhm. the original extended mix _is_ more or less the stonebridge remix. trust me on this. after the label heard stonebridge's remix, they was so pleased with it so they marketed his his version as the original. hence me saying original stonebridge club mix. great track, one of my alltime favs, have it twice on vinyl.

I successfully requested Xpander to Sasha when he was on his AirDrawnDagger tour. He actually closed his set with it for me... one of the finer moments in my clubbing career.
