Wink beautiful day (without you) - LATEST MIX

my latest mix, titled so for the inclusion of 2 remixes of the track

complete with art this time. for more of this photographer, check http://sigpras.deviantart.com/
i took the image from there, so he deserves the full credits. tried to get permission first, but never got a reply. since this is not commercial, don't think it's too much of a big deal.

obviously not my freshest tracks, and a lot less techy and weird than what i normally do. something i can hand out to girls without having them think my brain had a meltdown or i'm on too many drugs. something i can possibly give to some promoters that my be scared off by my normal self. in any case, here it is.

CLICK ME // 256kbps // 71:33 // 131mb

no ableton or other funny business. mixed on 2x Pioneer CDJ-200s and a beaten up Pioneer DJM-300 mixer with no monitors. i'd say it came out decently, but you tell me.

Hmmm, looks tasty, Ducky. I will dl, listen, and report back.

Thank you for sharing!

I hope this one lasts longer that 30 minutes, dude. The last one you did was such a tease and left me drooling for more.

Some big jams on there, but also some I wouldn't expect. I will b0p this.

This one got a listen this morning, and I was very, very pleased with it m8.

The reason I grabbed this was basically because of the appearance of "Warning Siren," "Rej," and "John the Revelator." They're all tunes I love, and all tunes I'd heard people drop pretty frequently in the last year, but had kind of forgotten about/started to ignore them a little bit. When I saw the TL, I thought to myself "FUCK! Those are some fucking ch00ns - And the surrounding jams that I don't know look intriguing."

You didn't disappoint.

The introductory phrase from "Present Lover" to "Warning Siren" really got me into the groove of the set and kept my head bobbin. I didn't particularly care for the mix into "Jah," but that was remedied by a very, very nice transition into "Rej."

The thing that caught me most of all though was hands down the final two tunes. They worked beautifully together, and really gave me a sense of the set coming to an end/a sense of "completeness." They really tied the entire set to that point together in a manner that suggests some pretty impressive programming skill.

As far as any comments on the mixing in the set, other than the mix into "Jah," sounded pretty solid to me m8. Keep up the good work - Will definitely be watching for more material from you

i really appreciate the criticism, and i agree with you. i'm not really happing with some of the mixing overall, such as the transition into JTR, you can hear me manually bending it in.

part of the reason, and not to make excuses, is that i have no monitors, and this mixer has been really beaten up and doesn't cue exactly like it should. i am a bit rusty as well, but then again, i always trainwreck to hell whenever i record

i think i am recording another set today. this is sort of a demo i can give out, and not really worry too much, since i get the feeling most people will like it. today, since i got some new tracks to try out, i am thinking of doing something a lot more bleepy and weird, as i normally like, hehe.

thanks for the comments.

When you program exceptionally well, you can fudge the mixing a bit and still sound great

Just ask Nick Warren!

Oh Ducky's brain had a meltdown! Again?

Good stuff, Ronald. I really enjoyed it. Excellent track selection and nice transitions. I appreciate that this was longer than 39 minutes.

I haven't heard most of these tracks before. I really like them. The set definitely has a playful, sexay feel to it.

Thank you for sharing.

lol chrissi, i hated that set too, too shoooort!

but this one is sexay, as ronald said not his freshest tracks or his usual style but it does sound good as always great set, gay intro, but great set, kinda like bear bounces back
