Songs that Represent Trance

Many of my friends ask me.. "What do you listen to?"

They often don't know what I'm talking about when I tell them, "I listen to EDM, namely, trance."

Thus, I'm often faced with a dilemma. I only have maybe one or two chances to hook my friends on this magical music genre, so what songs do I offer them?

My question to you is..

What two songs do you feel represent EDM and trance best? If you could force the non-EDM world to listen to just one or two songs, what would they be?

Not quite the same. But close, granted.

I got my father hooked when I played ISOS4 in the car. I was picking him up from a party so he had been drinking. Anyways, Coca & Villa - La Noche starts playing and when the guitar kicked in he started playing the air guitar and thought the song was awesome. The next day he ripped all my isos cd's and a few months later he even bought In My Memory

So to get dads hooked, play them La Noche

because of the many subgenres of trance it's hard to pick one that represents just "trance", at least with todays standards.

tell them that trance of today is infact a broad genre wich you can't see in just black or white. pick good representative tracks from each (or some) genres and explain wich subgenre they belong to so they learn from that start that there is no style called just "trance" if we are talking modern dance music.

maybe if you go back to the early or mid 90s when the trance genre did not have the strong profiled soundings yet, then you could refer to the music as just "trance".

I said it in the other thread and I'll say it here: Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar. If you listen to every mix of the track you get a more comprehensive picture of trance's progression from the early days of 1993 to the present, as well as more scope of the variety within the genre than any single other trance record out there.

I really hope this was a joke.

Mine:
Insigma - Open your eyes
Super 8 : get off

then I would say:
"Trance is music with beautiful classical-like melodies and
the mission in this music is to get into trance-like state." +
"every track I have is on a vinyl or mix album".
