Internet Explorer 7

I "upgraded" (really downgraded to this piece of hot garbage) to IE7 and i really need to UPGRADE back to 6. anyone else find compatibility problems with IE7? i use both windows media player and music match jukebox but because i "upgraded" to 1e7, it won't work.

There should be a Add/Remove Program listing for it. If not, just do a System Restore, on the day before you installed it.

I don't plan on upgrading to IE7, until it's fully supported.

thanks. i wasn't sure though if i really wanted to do system restore because it might further mess up things or removing it totally. right now i guess i'm just going to keep it i think.

System Restore is perfectly harmless, for as long as you don't do it in Safe Mode (lesson learned).

Usually I would reccomend you to http://www.oldversion.com/ however they dont seem to have a link for 6 yet. I havent had compatability problems with IE7 but the whole thing seems rather clunky in a tradittional MS first release.

In the meantime, I upped the old 6 installer I found on my HD, though I cant gaurantee it will work: http://www.thetetcorporation.org/admin/ie6setup.exe

Exactly just use Firefox or Opera instead, the only people I know who still use internet explorer for everyday browsing are my parents, but they don't really have a clue.

Internet Explorer 7 is now a critical upgrade in Windows Update.

Unfortunately, I think the default interface looks terrible, doubly so if the theme is 'Windows Classic'. Under 'Luna' (the blue and green plasticy theme) it looks marginally better.

As far as reverting back to IE6, system restore may work, but since Internet Explorer has components that tie directly into the graphical portions of Windows, there's the possibility that it may break.

I would recommend not upgrading in the first place, but since it's probably near impossible to go back, I would say just stick it out; Music Match will probably be updated to make it compatible with IE7.

(You could always try the IE6 install as someone else mentioned. However, if you insist on using IE as your default browser, I would definitely recommend sticking with IE7.)

If XP allows you to setup a rollback, before the actual upgrade, you should be able to revert back to IE6. As I said before, I'm not upgrading, until IE7 is fully supported by third-party developers.

Worst case scenario - completely remove IE from the system, through Add/Remove. Then, reinstall IE6. This will mean, having to save your favorites folder, FTMFW!

i have no problems with it and i like IE with the mulittab's so i no longer saw the point of having firefox so i uninstalled it.

its not gonna make everyone happy, but im satisfied for the time being.
