though i do have a slight fondness for the tribal, i am definitely enjoying the variety of fresh sounds carey is now bringing to the table. sean played a great warmup as usual, and demi came out the gates pretty vicious. i REALLY liked the funky/groovy shit he played around 6am.
great party, and great showing from the TA contingent
i thought sean millers mixing was great as always but his set was way too boring for me...it seemed like he was on for 12 hours..demi was good too. took a while to get going but he managed to pick it up perfectly
when did the party end?
everyone was at zone when we got there at like 9am....heard mixed reviews about demi
first off, i have to note that i *heart* the new space. i haven't been since the old boa days when the dj booth was over by the stairs. what a transformation! the club looks amazing and is laid out so much better than before. loved the decorations hanging over the dj booth. i was very impressed and hopefully there will be more events there that i will want to go to. the crowd was a really good mix as well, very friendly, etc, etc. (except for that one creepy guy...but let's face it, there always has to be that one creepy guy.)
demi's set was so-so for me. it started off quite hard then slowed down a bit and got funkier which i enjoyed, then went into this tribal business late in the night which seemed to kill the mood for a bit cos i looked around and everyone was just sort of standing there on the dancefloor. it got more upbeat again, but by that point i was too tired to dance, and was much happier sitting on the couch talking for the last hour or so. the tracks themselves were good, but for me, the music just didn't have any real flow and i couldn't ever properly get into it.
we left at 9, i think the night was finishing shortly thereafter.
sorry to everyone i headbutted with the brim of my hat when talking to you! i'm not used to that thing!
Everyone's probably at the Zone still
Man I wish I was in TO this weekend.
Saw Demi at the zone. no he wasnt playing, just walking around!
I also saw a guy who looks exactly like Steve Lawler around 5pm! Im not even kidding! Ask Kat (2famous4u), both of us were sober, and it was beside the coat check, so it wasnt dark there. WOW. scary shit.

He seems like a really nice guy which is why I find it difficult to post a truthful review. I think there is a lot to be said for pleasant, thankful djs who love your support and no-one should take away from that.
Sean was wonderful and started the night beautifully but Demi bored me. Quite a lot actually. Not a melody in sight, the repetitive tribal sounded like he played the same song for 3 hours.
Sean was on fire...so glad I had my rubber arm twisted (thanks Jeffrey!!)
Demi was ok. I did enjoy him, just found him a bit repetitive. Had a blast though..what a great crowd!!
Sean was great, demi reminds me of chus and ceballos mixes very tribal
liked it. How come not everybody wearing army costumes oh well. great time and great vibe

I had a great time at Sonic. Wasn't the best I've heard from Demi but still good. I hope this wasn't a one-time thing and we get to see Demi there again.
Haven't been to Sonic since the old Boa days so I only have one thing to say. Congratulations so Sonic for having the best club space in the city. Lighting, sound, temperature, all were amazing. I cannot wait to go back. Shame on me for missing this for so long.
