Adam Beyer

Is he the best Dj on earth?

I've seen many from the so-called "Top 100" list. From Techno veterans like Cox, Rush, Mills, Garnier and Hawtin to House legends like Felix da Housecat and Danny Rampling to electro-minimal avantgarde (Holden, Christian Vogel, Magda..) and not to mention the Dutch Trance connection. Over the years one Dj more than anyone else has managed to keep amazing me: By re-inventing himself , by sheer solid performances, by an enormous variety of genres and breathtaking technical skills. That person is Adam Beyer. I've just seen him recently for the 4th or 5th time and he surprised once again. Only a 'warmup' for Dave Clarke he completely owned the crowd within half an hour and created mass hysteria towards the end. The way he programms his sets, the eclectic ingredients from mechanic to funky to sophisticated to pure bass-mayhem...Beyer is one of a kind. Please take a listen to his recent set: 27.10.2006, Toronto. Four fantastic hours that take you to all moods and nuances electronic music nowadays can offer!

Re: Adam Beyer

beyer is certainly one of the best dj's about.

technically superior to most and tunes are always spot on.

Good producer as well.

Being a HUGE Beyer fan myself I agree with a lot that was stated in the first post. His set last year at Moving City (Streetparade after.party) was THE best set last year for me. Whenever you see Beyer - he always delivers. Great stuff.

One of the few techno DJ's that keeps performing on a steady, high level.

I don't like his dabblings into more minimal-oriented stuff though.

technically impressive.

recently saw him in montreal @ parking and was very deceiving. didn't play his crazy minimal-techno bits he plays in europe.

I also love his work, as do most of my friends.

Posted by jahnlay on Nov-15-2006 10:52:

Most of my friends are dj's and producers like me, so they have pretty good taste in music

Give them some good MDMA and then play them some Techno, they'll be hooked forver!

without a shadow of a doubt the best DJ I've ever seen, a proper fucking techno DJ. Moved on a lot from the "tool" type techno I first heard him play (absolute 3 deck madness), and slotted into the slower tech-housier side of things now. He neither plays or makes minimal so whoever suggested that is an irrelevant bastard. Saw him a couple of months back at fabric and it was incredible, he plays all the records I play, only at + 8 and the mixings a lot better

live @ 10 days off....tell me there's no minimal techno there....its only that.

keep in mind he doesnt play the same sets in europe and in america
