About "Comfort Module":

I'm normally a psytrance DJ, but The progressive house/trance scene has been fascinating me for a while now, and "Comfort Module" is a set I've been meaning to do for quite some time - a set where I am concentrating fully on progressive house/trance sounds without psytrance influences.

The result is meant to be an emotional, atmospheric journey made with the summer season and the sofa listener in mind, starting out slow with laidback house-grooves and chillout-inspired soundscapes, before moving through deep, tribal beats and last but not least finishing with some intense and euphoric, trancey tunes.

Hardcore psytrance purists might find it cheesy, but if you're into smooth progressive grooves, I urge you to give it a listen

About me:

24 year old Jannick Andersen from Denmark is one of the rising DJ-talents of the progressive scene where he, known under the name pr0fane, is starting to get noticed nationally as well as internationally.

His love for electronic music started with acts like Kraftwerk, Jean Michel Jarre, Prodigy and Chemical Brothers - in 1997 he discovered psychedelic trance, and since then he's been a loyal follower of this scene, though in later years his taste has developed more and more towards progressive sounds.

After being a bedroom DJ for a few years, pr0fane got his first official gigs in 2004, and since then he's played at various indoor and locations in Denmark, most noticeably the Middle Earth festival 2005 and Scandinavian Electronic Music Festival in 2004. His dedication and skills are also starting to get noticed abroad, and he has so far played in Turkey at the Soulclipse Festival 2006 as well as the two German festivals In-Deep-An-Dance Festival and Naked Festival this summer.

His taste is quite broad, which enables him to play very varied sets, depending on the different factors of the party like crowd, location and time of day - from delicious ambient and chillout-sessions, over electro/tech or progressive house to progressive psytrance and full on psychedelic party music. In the last couple of years his primary focus has been on the uplifting side of the progressive spectrum though - always with a mix of cutting-edge new sounds and a few memorable old gems here and there, maintaining an interesting flow - and of course with the technical skills to back it up.

pr0fane is currently an official DJ for the Israeli progressive psytrance label Dance N Dust Records.

Personally I think "Comfort Module" is the best set I've ever recorded. It is MUCH more laidback than "Digital Delights part 2" though

Great mix, I really enjoyed it. I eat my words for questioning your ability to blend basslines in you psy mix on Isratrance... although for me I still prefer psy mixes (esp prog psy) mixed as close to prog house as possible with a few killer dropped basslines for dramatic effect and to shake people up.

I am really looking forward to hearing more of your mixes.

9/10
