Why you should vote today!!
If you worry about the following you need to vote today:
Crime, traffic, stupid parking laws, your favourite nightclub, transportation such as TTC, solving the homeless problem, property taxes (which also affect rent prices btw)
All these issues can be decided in part by YOU today by casting your vote. Go out and vote and vote wisely. Toronto is at a crucial crossroads. Many people don't realize how dire the city's situation is at the moment. This could be one of the most important elections Toronto has ever had. This is why YOU need to vote today so that you can steer the city in the direction you want it to go. The 2 main candidates couldnt be more different and thats a very good thing for democracy.

I'll be right after work
If you're not sure of the candidates in your ward:

You now officially have no excuses...

My theory - if you don't vote, you don't have a right to complain.

good, these people control our destiny. This is why we should try and control them as much as possible.
I cannot understand how a person decides not to vote when most of their lives is decided by these people.
If I'll actually get a chance to vote I'll vote for Miller, that Jane Pitfield is no good

I am astonished an election thread wasn't started a few days ago.
I'm voting today, because I feel I can't complain if I don't vote. There's some bozos in my town I want out, and some new ones I want in. I must speak my voice with my pencil tonight.
If you'd like to hear your mayoral candidates in your area, you can hear them here: http://www.cfrb.com/elections.
My municipal taxes have gone up by 50% in the last few years, and I am pissed, and will voice my opinion and desire for change tonight.
In Aurora, it's time to clean it up, and time for a ward system IMO.
It's pretty hard to distinguish between the platforms of the candidates in my ward. I essentially feel the net result will be the same regardless of who I vote for.

I just came back from voting.
Not only did I vote but I convinced my dejected mom and some other slackers to vote after they looked at the polls and said "there's no point!"
Vote Miller! (for Biggest Douchebag in the Universe)

DAMMIT, my town now has a bad case of syPhyllis for the next 4 years.

Morris ousts Jones in Aurora Aurora Phyllis Morris celebrates her victory with a supporter. Voters made Phyllis Morris the happiest woman in Aurora tonight. By ousting long-time mayor Tim Jones, residents sent Ms Morris a clear message: move past the dysfunction that bogged down the past council and work constructively with a fresh new slate of councillors during the next four years. Ms Morris led from the outset as the advanced polls indicated a tight race between her and Mr. Jones. Her lead grew from a few dozen votes when poll results began streaming in shortly after 8 p.m. When it was over she won with 5,208, compared to Mr. Jones 4,798 with 23 of 24 polls reporting. |
