Why Miller?? What has he done???

What has he done in 3 years other than cancel the airport bridge at a cost of 36 million dollars and give into an illegal ttc strike?

I would really like to know from the miller supporters

He raised taxes and reduced services.

edit:

Here's more from Jane Pitfield's site:

quote:
During his term, Miller has:

* Pushed through a sole-source deal to buy subway cars for the TTC. Taxpayers will never know whether theyre getting the best value for their money.

* Secretly negotiated the purchase of a landfill site near London. He then denied, and later had to admit, the existence of a report that offered Toronto the use of the site without having to buy it. Residents still dont know the details of Millers deal.

* Tried to keep a report on the Gardiner hidden, since his real agenda is to tear down the expressway, and voted against allowing a public referendum on the Gardiner.

* Given himself and Council a nine per cent pay hike by casting the deciding vote.

* Seen the departure of several senior managers and directors whose recommendations he didnt like.

* Reorganized staff which resulted in severance payments of $15 million over two years.

* Surrounded himself with his cronies, rewarded his NDP friends, endorsed candidates in the last federal election and provincial by-election, and politicized City Hall.

* Received money from the province for public transit, and then raised TTC fares anyway.

* Arranged new taxing authority, which he plans to impose on residents if re-elected.

He'll be re-elected simply because he's the best of the worst

There are some really good candidates, but the media doesn't report on them. Clearly, the media is biased and Miller is their man.

edit: Yes I realize that there are a lot of wackos running too.

The issue is not Miller, it's who you would give a chance to prove that's better than him?

LOL considering my work is in toronto and most of my business depends on toronto id say that that election has far greater importance to me than the one here.

Posted by SPANIARD on Nov-14-2006 00:19:

Maybe you should tell me what you want out of a mayor.

Posted by psychosomatica on Nov-14-2006 01:06:

Now say I reversed the question... What has Pitfield done? If you want people to vote for Pitfield, the burden of proof is on you.

they are all clowns, each of them....

You explain your stance and we discuss that is how it works.

I actually miss this guy..

He was an awesome mayor when I lived in North York, yeah, meh in TO, but I sure miss the charisma he had. Always fun to read about all the drama he had as mayor.
