5/6PM looking like 10 PM appreciation thread

Am I the only person who loves this about winter? Most people hate how it gets dark so early and whine about it. I actually get happier and go outside MORE.

Where are all my night owls?

Posted by Jackson on Nov-13-2006 21:01:

Nah, i love it in the summer where i go to a party around 7pm and still light out...then party all through the night untill the sun comes back up

Posted by Allied Nations on Nov-13-2006 21:01:

I hate this bullshit. I can't stand it getting dark at 5PM.

I seriously don't understand why more people like summer than winter. Or at least why it's not 50% summer lovers, 50% winter lovers.. Summer is unbearable, I hate the heat and the brightness. It sucks.

I think I could appreciate it more if I was able to see some sunlight during the week.
Getting up when it's dark, and getting home when it's dark can feel quite depressing.

Exactly! Especially when you work under artificial light and there are no windows. Feels like you miss out on the day.

yeah i'm somewhat of a night owl and i like winter, however, you can't deny the fact that sunlight plays a great role in our mood
so while i'm happier than a lot of people in the winter, im' even happier in the summer
seasonal depression ftl

I love that.
Even when its the middle of the night in summer, I love walking around with a tshirt on, and it still being a light night, more a navy blue sky thena pitch black one,
However, I love winter, being all wrapped up and feeling cosy and warm inside, the short days mean I work less hours in the winter, and the days off, where all the shops and entertainment venues closed gives ample time to be snug and warm spending time in with my gf.

Good times either time, if people can't stand a certain season they are just wasting their life away, make the most of everything, find what you love about the summer, find what you love aboutt he winter and have fun in each.

Lol, its rubbish here, hangs around freezing, may get a few weeks where it drops below and we recently had a night where it dropped to below -4. but its up and down, we had days reaching 15-18 0C a ciuple of weeks ago, yet when I was a kid at this time it'd be snowing all the time.

GLOBAL STINKING WARMING

these changes have little-to-no bearing on me, i used to be considered a night owl, but i'm much more of a shifter than that, my waking hours changes constantly.

Nah. I'd rather be at the beach until 7 p.m. watching the sun set while drinking mojitos and dancing to house music

Ok, and drunk dialing a few friends

I DO start getting used to it getting darker though usually after Thanksgiving, but I prefer the Spring time.

There's really a difference in South Florida?

i absolutely hate it. walking out the back door of my office into pitch black darkness at the end of the day really bums me out. i enjoy the nighttime, but i prefer it to start at least a few hours after i get off of work. i hardly ever see the sunshine/daytime during the winter because i spend that entire time in an office with no windows near my desk.

bah. at least there's the tanning salon! keeps me sane in the winter months.

Posted by Saka on Nov-13-2006 21:45:

Must suck for people working 9-5's, waking up and not seeing daylight, workign in an office then when you finish work, walking out into nighttime, hahahaha

Appreciate outdoors
