Toronto Sympatico HSE subscribers????

Those of you that subscribe to bell sympatico high speed edition internet service...

Lately, I've been getting these 30-second freezes in my connection... I can't open ICQ messages, and web pages won't load... yet, if I'm downloading something, it'll keep downloading...

Anyone have this problem?

Nope. I've had Bell high speed for about 2 years now running an ftp server 24/7 and I've been more than pleae with it. Never had a problem for all that time.

What OS are you using? It might be a resource problem.

I tried upgrading to XP but there were way too many problems...

usually freezes occur due to ur own OS and ur cache is too cluttered up...check how many programs u have running in the background..make sure that the ones u dont need are not....

btw...how much RAM do u have?

Are you sure it will keep downloading? Are you sure that actual data is still being transferred? What I mean is will the percent of the transfer change... cause if it does, it's your computer.

It's strange though... if I end all my unimportant tasks and then surf, the same crap still happens! I'm lost on this one...

And I have 256mb ram...

I've had instances where some small quick downloads will complete in the amount of time my browser and ICQ window freeze...
I know now it's not a connection issue, since it works without problems on my laptop running XP...
