Opinion sought: Girls in business suits outside of work

So my hubby and I were debating, pretty heatedly too, on his side about suits. I personally think they lot hot at the office and even afterwards so I usually don't bother changing if I have a dinner/drinks thing after work. I'll wear a sexy lil top underneath if it really warrants it and cute shoes/accessories. He believes if you are doing anything afterwards you should bring a change of clothes.

What do you guys think?

carrying a change of clothes seems like such a hassle. most guys don't do it so why should women?

Happy hours filled with a million Gordon Gecko's, makes me nervous, guys who slick their last strands back...all we dont need are a million Gordina Gecko's.

If I were a plumber, I wouldn't wear my blue collars out, i'd change; same rules apply.

Is this about gals in suits or guys in suits also?

In either case, I'd say depending on situation/where you're going.

edit: Maybe I should read the thread title before replying.

as your outfit on a saturday night for the bar. no

Both pants suits and skirt suits on women are hot, especially skirt suits. I think the same applies to women as men, one is never underdressed in a suit. Given our egalitarian (at least nominally so) culture in this neck of the woods I don't think anyone would view a woman wearing a suit during the buisness week (even after hours) as out of place.

I feel very few women can actually pull it off. When they do, it's hot, but most women wear off the rack Reitman's, wear ugly shawls, and can't accessorize for sh!t.

I dress business and business casual at work, but at the end of the day, can't wait to get into my abercrombie wear.

i don't need to change after work cuz we have a pretty relaxed dress code .... but everytime i go out to a party i bring a 2nd outfit cuz i dance my ass off i've even changed at a party before lol

but girls in buissness suits are hot

girls in business suits = hot.

i don't care if they're at a fucking monster truck derby - still works.

I love a good power suit. I actually just bought one last week because my suits from biz school are all too big. We have a huge work function next week and I can't wait to wear it. (Abercrombie...are you going to that? It's downtown! I can take the TTC home! free drinks!)

Anyhow, you can totally dress up or down a suit with the top and accessories...ie daytime, wear your hear pulled back with a standard, nonflashy type of purse and some subdued jewellry, after work, throw on some darker eye makeup, a nice lipstick, take off the jacket, let your hair down and then you have a great after work outfit.

keep the suit ON!

Suits on women look hot. So why take it off if it looks good and it would just create a hassle with bringing more clothes..

Reitman's has some decent suit jackets and suit pants actually

"Decent" is highly subjective.

Posted by riskytrader on Nov-15-2006 15:23:

Oh, just to clarify in case anyone's wondering...I wasn't talking about Reitman's suits but very well-tailored suits from Theory and BCBG. I find those designers fit me well.

My fave line of this whole thread was Gordon Geckina's ...made me LOL proper!

For a last minute suit, you can get away with it...perferably if you dont have to wear the jacket for very long and if you're in favorable lighting.

I haven't yet had the chance to fork over more than $500 for a suit yet...I'm working up to that. I don't wear a suit enough to make it worthwhile.

you don't care?

some of us do...

and no, most of them can't put that hot suit outfit together if their life depended on it... i guess we're just not one of the "trendy/stylish" nations

I say it's not so much about where the suit came from but how it fits and how the woman wears it. You can work it if it's properly tailored and you accesorize it appropriately. That way, you can make it work for many different occasions and also bring out your personal style.

So far, my favourite suits have come from Jacob and I like them but I'm kinda glad that my office is fairly casual so I don't have to wear one everyday
