There is talk of that happening.

There are some sick body kits for the solstice.....I've been looking at getting a kit for mine

drop it an inch, roll the fenders and get wider tires in the rear.

or just make it a sky and do the above.

personally, I don't like the sharp lines on the sky. I was debating which one to get and the soltice just appealled to me more.

Saturn Sky Redline

http://www.saturnskyredline.net

I want the Saturn Sky Redline (similar to the Solstice, but better IMO).

The Saturn Sky Redline gets a boost in performance from an Ecotec turbocharged 2.0-liter engine, GM's first direct injection offering in North America. It produces 260 horsepower at 5300 rpm and 260 lb.-ft. of torque at 2500 rpm, making it GM's highest specific output engine ever at 2.1 horsepower per cubic inch of displacement (130 hp / 97 kw per liter) and the most powerful engine in the Ecotec family.

Unique Saturn Sky Redline specs include:
- Standard torque-sensing limited-slip differentialStandard StabiliTrak electronic stability control
- Performance-tuned suspension

Saturn Sky Redline specs also standard on the Saturn Sky include:
- Four-wheel independent short/long arm suspension for optimal handling and stabilityCoil-over Bilstein monotube shocks for excellent wheel control and road isolationHydraulically assisted rack-and-pinion power steering for quick, responsive vehicle controlFour-wheel disc brakes with ABS for excellent stopping performanceWide track for excellent stability and superior handlingNear 50/50 weight distribution for balanced handling
- Structural tunnel design and hydro formed longitudinal frame rails for a stiff body that leads to greater vehicle responsiveness and better overall feel

The Saturn Sky Redline specs also feature several unique interior and exterior differences compared to the Saturn Sky specs, including dual exhaust with chrome polished outlets, 18-inch polished aluminum alloy wheels, and specific front lower fascia with large brake cooling vents and black headlamp bezels.

the turbocharged solstice is basically the same as the redline. I will be getting a turbocharge for my solstice and it will cost me less...and I will be getting more horsepower out of it.

Oh my....hot

IMO, I like the lines of the Sky a little better. I guess I'm more of a sucker for the current design trends.

The Solstice has a very nice design as well, much more 'classical' as far as cars go. The flowing curves remind me of a Jaguar.

So far I am really happy with my purchase.....I laugh though when they say the vehicle is only $26,000.00 (approximately). If you get the absolute base model then yeah it is but the base model looks like shit. By the time all was said and done with my solstice it was $40,000

I feel your pain. I was recently in the same boat, albeit with a different car.

I'll keep my white Miata till it dies, thank you.

I've had enough with any american-made cars anyways, they're built like shit.

Those older Miatas are really fun cars to drive. As close as you can get to the thrills of a super-fast go-kart

Everytime you put the top up or down with one hand, think of the hassle that a Solstice owner is going through and you will be glad you kept the Miata

I loved mine, but I couldn't do the one-handed top trick with the Sparco seat or roll bar.

Mallet Cars is doing factory-esque kits with the Soltice and the LS7 but they're a lot of money.

You can also fit an LS7 in a 1st gen Miata too.

Mallett has a kit for the solstice that will get you 650 horses...it will cost you approx. $55,000.00

And it will still have an awkward top. GM can't seem to get the small things right.

I like the outside lines of the Solstice though I think the stock rims are too big. The brakes look really wimpy behind them. It looks much better top-down.

A hardtop coupe could be kinda cool.

Im sorry to hear. HORRIBLE pricing. NOT something to be proud of. you paid 40k for 26k worth of vehicle. Ouch.

Miatae are far from ghey, though I can understand how people get that mistaken impression.

You're right about the 7L not fitting, I was thinking LS2.
