Computer Monitor Problem?
I gotta question about my comp. It seems my monitor is going bad cause everything is getting whiter & whiter. Almost to the point where i cant see much on the monitor. This started yesterday. Now to me it seems i need a new monitor. Especially since its a flat screen thats almost 5 years old. But just curious if its the monitor or the video card. Sorry i dont know much about computers & i dont wanna go out & buy a new monitor & then find out its something else.

Plus it has gotten alot worse in the last day.
i would imagine if you took a screen shot and shared it, and if we saw that it was overly bright, it would deduce the video card. but what do i know?

you're going blind.
Try it on someone elses comp, see if it's still fucked. Could equally be the graphics card (or just switch GC's if you have some lying about.
Either way you'll find out what it is from that.

You should've gotten a Viewsonic flat-panel - they're the best. I was at my friend's house the other day - he had just gotten a Viewsonic 19" widescreen flat-panel for $190 at Costco, that day. He has it connected to a XBOX 360 and PC - the picture is entirely badass. |
I did hear that Viewsonic was good but Best Buy didnt have any & I gotta gift card from there as a gift a while back, so i decided to use it to help with this. It was only like $230 i think, so not too bad.

Even though I have a Powermac G5, the monitor is a huge MF box!! But it has a big screen and a good resolution for what I need to do on it so I can't complain about that. Still a flatscreen would be nice but I can't afford one.
And as I don't actually have a monitor problem, I'll GTFO!
*sneaks away*
