my thoughts on Tommy Lee, and the bouncers @ the guv

so i just got home from the guv, and let me tell you, i was quite disappointed..got there just before midnight with the line moving moderately fast and it wasn't packed, YET..so around 1:30-2:00am, Tommy Lee and DJ Aero came on, and that's when it started to get PACKED!! couldn't move at all, at least not where i was..the first half of his set pretty impressive, focusing on more of a hard, techno-trance sound, which was sick..so thought to myself, this Tommy Lee guy isn't so bad..so then maybe after half an hour or an hour into their set some chick comes on stage and starts singing..i guess they collaborated on a track or somethin..they didn't mention her name, not that i know of, and you couldn't hear a fucking word she was saying, it was almost as if she was mumbling..also, her mic volume seemed kinda low and NOBODY was dancing or really giving a shit about this chick..they should've booed her to get off the stage..so then after this 10 plus minutes of torture, she was gone..i guess they decided to slow down their set when they "resumed". boy did it ever suck, the beats were TOO slow..so then Tommy Lee had his own little "solo" part of the set..it was sad, really, the man has no skill!! that's when i decided to head to the Gallery, which was a good choice!! his overall set was okay, i'd give it a 7.2 out of 10..

and ahh yes, the bouncers..when his set was starting i decided to video record the first few minutes of his set..as i was recording, a big hand reached over and tried to snatch away my camera..i wasn't gonna let my baby, so i held onto it..so then he walks over to me and says, "Delete those pictures!!"..i was having a bit of a hard time deleting it, so he gets impatient and says, "delete those pictures or i will kick you out!!" so i deleted it, and i showed him the pics that are left on my camera..so then he walks away..there was another incident where a guy was taking pictures with his phone, and the fucking bouncer just shoved it out of his hand onto the floor..i couldn't believe my eyes, people were either getting in shit or getting kicked out because they were taking pics..gimme a fucking break..after i left the club i asked one of the bouncers why you couldn't take pictures of him, and he simply said, "cuz it's Tommy Lee, he's a big celebrity"..how sad..another incident i had with the bouncers happened when i was going to the Gallery from the Guv..as i was heading there, a bouncer was walking towards me..being the gentlemen that i am, i kinda got out of his way..so then what does he do?? he gives me a nice big elbow to my chest..i'm like WTF!?!? but i didn't actually say that to him, otherwise i wouldn't gotten kicked out, lol.

that's my night..music was OK, and the bouncers were assholes!!

It's because of reasons like this that I no longer go to Guv and have not been for almost 3 years now.

but in all honesty ... umm we know Tommy is a wingnut and as for bouncers yes some of them are assholes but some of them are also nice ppl who will help you out no matter what. perhaps the bouncer you had a run in with just came from breaking up a fight or dealing with drunks or sketchbags. and as for pics umm yea Tommy
being the "celebrity" he is prolly doesnt want pics of him doing nothing in the dj booth while the other dood does everything put up in the papper lolz

holy fuck, relax.
the no photo rule of tommy lee was not just directed at you. that rule applied for everyone, including guvernment staff (aka. shaya and myself). the bouncers we aggressive with you because they probably had to deal with enough bullshit of people trying to be smart and sneaking pictures.

a picture speaks 1000 words, but since there are no photos of him..

someone tell us how fucked he was ?

tommy lee is a drummer.. great one for what he does... dj? not sure... but yeah that no picture rule is dumb.. i saw pics of him from TIL when he was there.. how come the same rule didnt apply at Guv??

But was that displayed on posters or made clear at the door before everyone came in?

I'm going to guess not since he was able to bring it in in the first place...

Some of these "celebs" (and I use the term loosely in this case) need to get over themselves...

What an asshole...

Normally I think the bouncers at guv are pretty nice for bouncers. But last night I thought they were being asses.
When I got searched at the door she found my camera and explained the no pic policy and suggested that I coat check it. So they did try to warn ppl, they just didn't do a great job.
As far as Tommy goes, he wasn't that fucked. Nothing really surprised me. The best part was when he ran around and poured Jager into everyone's mouths. Otherwise he just jumped around, took pics, lowered the bass, raised it, jump around etc. Their set got really repetitive and boring. But some of my friends touched Tommy Lee and they were pretty excited about that.
However Deko-ze and Mark always make my night.

people are allowed to bring in camera to take pics of their friends. the club wont stop you from doing that. it was by tommy lee's request that no photos be taken of him and the club enforced the rule. i dont see anything wrong with it.

I'll clarify; Was Tommy's request of the club made clear to the public before they came in the door?

Based on the information given here, I'd have to say not.

oh, i know it wasn't just directed at me..i guess i was just shocked at the fact that you weren't allowed to take pics or record video..has this happened before?? and as far as the bouncers are concerned, i don't think you'd like it if somebody elbowed you for no reason at all..i'm not the type to cause bullshit, i just didn't appreciate it.

i remember back in the day when guv didnt allow any video recording at all, whether it was with your phone or digital camera. i agree with you on how some bouncers treat you. but if you had to deal with the same bullshit all night for 8+ hours im sure you would get edgy as well. but its also part of their job to be a little hot tempered to intimidate people so they listen.

according the heavenisblue, they did let him know that there was a no pic policy when they found a camera on him at the door. i think they could have done a better job by putting up a sign at the door so everyone would see it as they walked in.

guv bouncers = meatheads
