[OFFICIAL] Wii Thread - Reviews, Previews, Q&As, etc...

This is it, folks.

First and foremost, let us know what you purchased (if you purchased anything; if you played at a demo kiosk or at a friend's house, that's cool too). Just how rich are the gamers on TA?

Afterwards, you can post reviews, talk about previews, critique posts/posters (thought process a must!), and ask and answer questions.

Welcome to next gen, boys and girls.

Keep non-related stuff OUT of this thread. You know who you are, people who spammed the last topic.

been fun as hell so far. Wii Sports boxing is hilarious! But like I said, Zeldaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

played it at my friends house yesterday - it is one sleek machine and i believe it'll probably be this holidays TOP SELLER. I said earlier in my other post that this console reaks of novelty, and it delivers that very well. It acted as a great center piece of entertainment for EVERYONE. This weekend was one expensive weekend for me and my friends. We picked up 2 PS3's, 2 Wii's, 2 360s, and 1 PSP Bundle. If CNN is true with reporting Sony's next PS3 shipment, the one I'm selling won't move until Christmas time.

Wii looking good

and what's a good opinion without a negative one, i'm not an ipod fan and the Wii reaks it, and yea i had to bring it up LOL...

A m8 of mine is having some serious issues with the accuracy of his controller. Seems to me that everything is hooked up right - Will let you guys know how this is resolved.

oh i didn't calibrate it and stuff, i just went to his house and played some zelda on it. i dunno my overall is 8/10, fun level is equivalent to the 360, i still haven't cracked my ps3 yet, waiting for all the sellers to sell theirs at the new gay low prices i've seen - 800 lol...it'll flip back up to another 1500-2k come after thanksgiving.

also didn't get a chance to see the Wii deck just stopped by to drop stuff off and played a round, seems fun, I'll have to sit with it more to give a full review.

I've been posting on IGN's Wii boards and there was a few people reporting issues with the hardware. He should call customer service immediately. From what people over there were saying, Nintendo will address the issue ASAP (even if it means shipping out a new console)

Wii is great waited 4 hours in line with some buddies on Sunday and got one, we spent a lot of time just making a few Mii's and such before starting Zelda.

I was surprised to see that the Wiimote isn't actually a point-and-click type of setup. In other words, it's not meant to be pointed at a place on the screen, rather, once the Wiimote registers with the sensor, the movement of cursors and crosshairs move relative to your movements, so it's an extension of your body, rather than being a tool you point at what you want. This was annoying for the first 20 seconds, then quickly became a non-issue once I pieced together how it was meant to work. I'm a big fan.

The Wii Sports are basic, but fun, I can't wait until REAL sports games start being released.

All in all, Wii met or exceeded any expecatations I had, and I'm looking forward to Nintendo's resurgence very much.

haha funny video. Yes the Wii has exceeded my expectations. I couldn't wait to get my hands on it and see how it worked and let me tell ya, it's awesome. Been fishing a lot in Zelda too. Ahemmm....for those of you who have it, It says in the fishing place that no sinking lures are allowed. I'm pretty sure it's around there somewhere hehe. Any one found it??? Just curious. I'm getting Madden this weekend also. w0000t can't wait for more games.
