Just out of curiosity..and personal knowledge...how many ppl are concerned about the welfare of one of their major senses,hearing...and if you are, what measures are you taking to ensure no damage when attending nightclubs...

Many wear ear-plugs.

Check the search to find threads related to the discussion.

There are probably 10+ more threads if you search for them.

Based on my thread tracking - over the last 6 months ear plugs have been mentioned at least once every 2.7 weeks.

I am buying custom fitted ear plugs by the end of the year. Given my meager student income, they're really expensive, but I think it's worth it. I'm just worried about the damage I've already done in my past 4.5 years of partying.

fckkk HOW MUCH ARE THEY???

Posted by phlog on Nov-20-2006 04:37:

i've been getting more and more concerned about this recently..

probably going to invest in some good plugs soon. i cannot imagine how shitty life would be without hearing/enjoying music in the future.

edit

and yea, i'm thinking about investing in ear plugs too. when its dead silent, i can hear a high pitch "weeeeeeeeeeee" sound in my ears

I think they start at around $120...but i suggest getting musicians customs..they go as high as $200, but r well worth it cause they essentially take the sound and lower it 15-25 dB without messing with the EQ frequencies.

You will get hearing damage. Guaranteed. I've had tinnitus now for at least 6 years from too much noise. Thought it would never happen to me of course but it did. Hearing damage is not reversible. Take care of your ears cause when you get older it will get even worse. Trust me.
