What an awesome fight! I knew GSP would pull thru. It's about time been waiting for this fight fovever! Knew since the first time I saw GSP he would make it to the top! So agile.

I always thought Hughes was over rated, the era of the ground and pound specialists is over. The next generation of UFC is with dynamic fighters like Anderson Silva and GSP. Im proud of GSP, he'll make a good champion and spokesperson, unlike asshole-jock Hughes.

St.Pierre is amazing, total domination of the fight. i think Hughes faked he received the kicks in the crotch, they looked ok to me and i think i have seen him doing that before.

agreed on all accounts. I <3 st.pierre. A much better athlete than hughes is imo .

Needs more, uh, what's that Fedor guy's name... Emelianeko or something? He's absolutely insane.

Still wishing to see a UFC vs PrideFC showdown. If I remember correctly, Chuck Liddell was supposed to fight Wanderlei Silva as promised by UFC president Dana White, but he's fighting Tito instead

I was disappointed by Silvia's fight against Manson though, hoped for a KO....

Matt hughes got crocop'ed. left foot too.

very nice high kick, hit him square in the side if the head with the shin. textbook kick. even better is that the highkick hit him high up on the shin, below the knee, which has a lot more brute impact than lower down the shin you go.

Batman can kick GSP's ass...

You might as well make a new thread telling me who won the Silva/Munson fight aswell.

time2burn is right, there should be a spoiler warning in the thread title. doing stuff like this on specifically MMA forums gets you banned instantly.

Why? If you're that interested, watch the fight. Don't expect it to be kept secret for days thereafter.

GSP was remarkably quicker than Hughes.

I was with a bunch of pretty-boys who buff their jacks at the gym, and that's it. They always picked the guy who had the better physique. (ex: cheering for Monson, not predicting the Brandon Vera win) It's not a fashion show.

Oh believe me I tried. I learned something on Saturday night. Don't go to a bar right when a UFC pay-per-view is starting. The bar will be incredibly packed and they will be charging cover charge to get in. The people I was with didn't want to pay 10 bucks to watch it. So instead I planned on downloading it and avoiding UFC spoilers.

GSP dominated from start to finish. It would have been over in the first if the round was 5 seconds longer.

Sylvia and Monson was an absolute sleepfest.

On that note, who said TKD has no place in MMA? Does GSP have TKD background? I know his partner Loiseau does.

Thanks for the link. I knew St Pierre would take Hughes. Especially after seeing GSP soundly beat Penn and watching Hughes get saved by the bell against Penn.
St Pierre is so much the better athlete and I predict that he will be the champ for some time.

i didnt phrase myself correctly. i meant if ya watch the replay, the high kick hits hughes on the head with the part of the shin just below the knee, thats what i meant by high up on the shin

GSP pwned Hughes in every single category...that was insane.

Disappointed at Monson's showing against Sylvia...mainly because Sylvia is the most boring champ ever and Monson is better than that on the ground. It's time to give Brandon Vera a title shot.

hmmmm...So first Franklin, now Hughes. All of Xyience's poster boys are getting KO'd. Is Sylvia going to be their main guy now? weak. :P
