yet ANOTHER Beatles mashup...

CNN Article Here

Basically, a commercial jingles writer and producer for INXS and Kate Bush (among others) has been given the task of overdubbing Beatle's classics including Strawberry Fields...

Im a little dissapointed because I am tired of remakes perverting every genre. Im not saying this wont be an enjoyable listen or that it won't be good, but couldnt they come up with a fresher idea? This has certainly already been done, at least a little, with DJ Dangermouse's work. What are your thoughts?

this concept is being done every month by mashup producers. dangermouse only got the light on him since he released in vinyl and the whole beatles recordcompany suing him. usually mashup-conceptalbums are just released on mp3 and is only given promotion via word to mouth or via blogs or whatever. that being said

let him do the idea but it's annoying at the ammount of cashins that they do to beatles fans every year and especially around christmas times. they always seem to find like two-three tracks that they haven't managed to milk out any cash out of that they whack in a new compilation or whatever.

actually it is quite nice.

and uh,

quote:
Love is a fascinating reworking of numerous classic Beatles recordings by the band's original producer, Sir George Martin, and his son Giles.

its not just some jingle writer.

quote:
The rules were simple: Beatles tracks only, no electronic distortion of what they recorded, and no newly recorded music.

not much perversion, either.

As I understand the project, the son is doing most if not all the work. He is the jingle writer. His father is simply noted because he was a studio engineer for the Beatles. Like I said, Im not saying this project will be garbage but jesus christ do we really need another Beatles mashup? Such "random" timing too right before christmas. Fuck...

Actually, they did do the mashup together. It's just that Sir George's hearing really isn't what it used to be so he needed someone to help him.
