Tiesto engineer

Who do you think Tiesto's engineer is?
He stated theres one person who has been doing 35% of his work (productions / remixes) since 1999.
Could it be Cor Fijneman? Benno de Goeij? Tony Montana? Geert Huinink? some unknown guy?

Which percentage of the Tiesto productions is made by your "Engineer"

I come up with the melody and the idea which I produce in the black hole studio, when thats finished we work on the track together and he is mixing the track down.So I guess thats 65% me and 35% him?

interesting percentages... i get where hes coming from, but that's still more along the lines of a guy saying "it goes like this" and then hes donig all the work.

i thought it was mainly geert... looks kinda like menno de jong

SvD?

Posted by GoSpeedGo! on Nov-21-2006 06:48:

I dont know who is behind his productions right now, but most of his biggest hits and practically all pre-2005 Tist0r tunes were produced by two quite unfamiliar guys (I forgot the alleged names). They have split up, though, so thats the reason why we havent seen a Tist0r release for quite a while and the reason why all of his recent releases sound far worse than the previous ones.

Its quite old news, there was a thread about it here and on t.nu

Just check the Black-Hole list.

It could be Phynn.

Phynn is blond and has a lot of hair..

Geert Huinink is bold?

DJ Waakop Reijers(sp?)

you don't need written info to know that. you can hear who helped him with most of his productions. during 2001/2002 when alot of his remixes started to sound proggy and was generally under 135bpm, do you think someone like DJ Montana or Cor Fijneman would be able to do such stuff, no, they do more fast tech(ish) stuff. That's when Geert Huinink came into the picture.

Posted by MichaelBoogerd! on Nov-21-2006 15:00:

huinnink wrote classical melodies for the IMM & Just Be albums, i dont see any other influence though. tbh.

Cor, Ferry, Montana - they all co-produced tracks with Tijs... but don't forget the main engineer @ BH in the 90's was Greg s'Gravesande

The same engineer (waakop reijers) has been working with tiesto since 1998-99... that 'sound' has become more rough/raw since 2004 when the second engineer (mallon) left the team via court dispute. A result of this legal action means that since that time, the engineer remaining (W-R) is now credited on Tiesto releases. Waakop Reijers did have a website, and also his picture on discogs about a year ago - but it looks like its been removed. Hans Willem Mallon basically got dumped... over the money... and thats why there is the thread in trance.nu and a few other forums where they've "got revenge" for that action.

From what i remember the guy in the picture is just one of the BH vinyl-shop lackies... who was in the back at the right time when they were shooting the dvd. It is definitely not Phynn.. this picture was taken mid-2002.

Before this discussion goes south, about Tiesto not producing the tracks that made him famous... its worth noting everyone from Sasha to Timo Maas has sound engineers.

dennis waakop reijers is the man who does it now, geert huinink writes the classical melodies that are used in many tiesto trax.

i phoned with geert huinink the other day, seems he is busy with new album tracks for T

Interesting, I thought he quit BH duties to pursue his live opera thing.
