Calling all DJM-800 Owners

Where'd you get yours? I'm in the market for one and would like to pay as little as possible but still get full warranty from an authorized dealer. Also lookin for CDJ-200s too so any retailers that sell both would be great...

thanks!

i have a couple of cdj200s that i no longer need. they are 6 months old and look brand new. no scratches. asking for $580 for the pair. also have a dn-x300 mixer. asking $200 for that. got the djm from agiprodj for $1269 shipped. I got a little bit of a break on the price for the djm cause i ordered 2 MK3s along with it.

I found this store

http://danceplanet.ecrater.com/product.php?pid=504599
$930.00 for DJM 800

$899.00 for CDJ-1000 MK3

http://www.ecrater.com/product.php?pid=401632

This looks like the best price

do you think it's scam or I can trust?

Posted by SPAWNmaster on Nov-22-2006 17:18:

probably not a scam but remember, you dont get the warranty from them because they are not authorized pioneer vendors...even djdeals is no longer an authorized vendor. over at ALDJ rik parkinson was talking about 800 prices in a thread, you should go check it out...can't find the link lol. to the guy who's selling his 200's...why on earth would you buy 1000mk3 if you already have the 200s? ive played on the mk3's and they're really not worth triple the price over the 200's just for vinyl mode and 3 hot cues and the waveform display...i dont think id ever sell my 200's to be replaced with mk3's unless i got a hell of a deal.

Posted by Max Thomson on Nov-22-2006 17:40:

Yes I started that thread over there too, I love that damn site Yes I have 2 CDJ1000MK2s right now and for the price, I really don't need them. The thing I use the most is the looping which the CDJ200 does better anyway (auto 4 beat loop). I also have the Ecler Nuo 4 which, I'm sad to say, is starting to become a bit limiting in terms of MIDI. I never use the center strip because those damn encoders jump all over the place (try adjusting the tempo on one of them its a nightmare) and they always push in accidentally. So that leaves me 2 channels of MIDI, for a total of 12 encoders, versus the DJM-800 which has more encoders than I could probably ever assign. Plus I really miss my FX, I had a Denon X1500 awhile back and have to say on-board effects really rock the house. I've used Ableton as a send/return piece but its just not the same.

Soooo I figure with the cash I'll make from selling the Nuo 4 and CDJ1000MK2s, I'll actually get paid to get a DJM-800 and CDJ-200s.

AGI seems like the way to go right now, but do you have to email them for that price? I think I saw it listed as $1550 on their site. Another thing I'm thinking of doing is just heading to my local guitar center once everything gets sold off, as they will probably cut me a deal (I also need some coax cables and some other shit so I could get it all done in one shot).

Thanks for your feedback guys!

I don't like the feel of the pitch slider on the 200s (too difficult to adjust), the 1000 feels more precise. i also wanted the waveform display so i can see where the breaks are. and last but certainly not least i wanted to use the same equipment that the clubs are using so that when i play out it will be familiar.

I checked those guys out. the dude sent me an email saying the shop was in portugal and they dont take credit cards. my bs detector lit up. i would be cautious.

you should really be using the center strip on your NUO4. Theres a total of 72 MIDI messages there! Thats MORE than the entire DJM-800 (61). Yes, I do realize you have to switch between layouts.

What do you mean by "jumping all over the place"? Have you updated the firmware recently? Maybe you chose one of the different settings in Control4Lab....which can change the what type of MIDI encoder it is...

What program are you using with your NUO4?

Posted by Max Thomson on Nov-22-2006 20:41:

I don't like switching layouts, I've typed up labels and everything but I just don't think its practical. What I mean by the encoders "jumping" is a drastic change in values about every 10 ticks or so (causing my tempo to jump from 80 to 89 etc). Firmware is the most recent, I don't know I just feel like I'm done with it. I will miss the waveform readout on my CDJ1000s, but hey ya can't have it all right (unless you're loaded!!)

Posted by Soundwerks on Nov-22-2006 21:05:

what software are you using with it?

Posted by Max Thomson on Nov-22-2006 21:23:

Ableton Live

Don't get me wrong the Nuo 4 is by far the best mixer I've ever owned. Sound quality is the best I've heard out of a mixer in that range (as good as A&H easily), the MIDI is limited, but good, and the computer cueing system is ahead of its time. The EQs and faders also rock the house. For the price, there really is nothing better, but the DJM-800 is just in a higher class of mixers...

If you weren't on the other side of the World I'd snap that Nuo 4 up so quick.

ah...Ableton...gotcha For Traktor, I think its the best solution. I'm not an Ableton user, but I can see how the NUO4 would be a bit of a pain in that situation.

Rebel Brown---it CAN be shipped!

Well my friend has just talked me out of doing this...apparently CDJ200s have a weird ass pitch slider and to be honest I really love the waveform display on CDJ1000Mk2s.

Thanks anyways!

Max

I have absolutely no problem with the pitch slider in the CDJ 200

Maybe it's different than the 1000, but you can get acustom to it.

Posted by Spirit5 on Nov-23-2006 03:14:

The problem with the CDJ 200s is that they are too damn tiny! That's one of the major drawbacks I had with them.

Posted by SPAWNmaster on Nov-23-2006 04:10:

the 200's are kinda small but there's absolutely NOTHING wrong with them or their pitch slider (which is damn accurate btw even next to the mk3's).

Posted by Max Thomson on Nov-23-2006 04:49:

Hmm sounds like I need to have a go on them then

Posted by HALO555 on Nov-23-2006 06:55:

Anybody interested in two Pioneer DMP-555s and a DJM-600 ? I'm mostly interested in upgrading my CD/MP3 players to get the 1000mk2s so I'll sacrifice my DJM-600. I'll probably settle for a DJM-400 since I don't need more than two channels and I don't need to connect it to any PA speakers or a booth monitor. The DJM-600 is practically new. None of my equipment has ever been used outside of the house. I have the original boxes and the manuals, etc.
I suppose I can sell the stuff on e-bay, but I'm a bit lazy to do that and I'd like for the stuff to go to a good home.
