Found this funny. I can just see all the ginos on the 9th being like "what the heck is this? Is this trance?"
I guess the word trance DJ for Tiesto, Armin and PVD is kind of pointless, electronic music DJ would be more suitable. But heads up to these guys for playing whatever they want that sounds good no matter what the sub-genre. It just ain't trance most of the time. Even most of the "trance" that most people call isn't really trance. More like synth-pop.
its good they he plays different genres..and can mix em nicely...here and there....but it gives a break for people who are dancing non stop, very hard, to just bust a slight groove and catch a breather

interesting t/l
tho like alwaus with tiesto doesnt matter if it is trance or house it is overplayed music
There is some good stuff in there. I'm all for him doing this if it means he won't spin the same stuff from all his CD's and an hour long self promotion of himself from the past 10 years. In the past 2 years, he's really only had hints and glimpses of being the true 'trance' dj he was before that so this shouldn't be shocking.
If anything the more these changes happen when the bigger name, older Trance DJ's seem to be converting styles, the more space will open up for fresh Trance DJ's to entertain big venues and people won't be complaining about genre overload. It seems House will always have a home since many promoters/club owners see it as a flexible genre (it can fit into the big room, the lounge etc) but especially in Toronto, I feel I'm not the only one second guessing if once the recycled DJ's retire, we will get any more Trance in the big venues.

. This would also mean that it is not the music people go for but the name and performer.

| Originally posted by SPANIARD Yeah and the argument can be made to what extent you can classify him as a Trance DJ. I would put him in the category of Techy DJ's that have Tranzy elements like Eddie Halliwell, Preach etc. I think Tech will always have it's place so he's ok. |

it depends wat you are goin for, if you are goin for the party and the experiance then it wont matter. But if you are a fan of the dj and are expecting a certain sound or style and you get something different, it might be disappointing.
I was drop dead surprised what he played when we saw him in niagara.
I think lots of people who shut the door on him would enjoy what he's playing now.
