Adding ableton to my setup
alright I have
2cdjs 800mk2 and numark dxm06 mixer.
i have a laptop and i want to use it together with ableton to throw some effects. how do i connect it? do i need another mixer i dont get it the connection thing.
do i need send & return? or what?

I think you would use send/return. After that you would plug a cable going out from your mixer into your pc (line in/mic) and then another cable would go from the out of your pc back into the mixer. How that is setup is all dependent on your mixer and laptop.
Invest in the M-Audio 410 External Soundcard, it will make your life much much easier if you're using an analog mixer, and also a midi controller would be nessecary, there are lots to choose from and essentially all do the exact same thing.

and also check out the midi controllers since they'll make using ableton a whoooooooole lot easier for someone who is new to the digitalism.

no use ableton's send/return and route through one of your channels on your mixer
i know this sounds retarded, but can you use a mic line as a line in from my mixers record out to record a set?
