As Chach mentioned, it's a segment from the Disney film Fantasia.

It's from back in a time when artists had to draw things by hand and put a lot more soul into their work - much more than most modern cg animated films, in my opinion.

Fantasia had some amazing art associated with an amazing classical soundtrack. This is a Mussorgy piece which is great. Another great one that was featured in the current film was "The Sorcerer's Apprectice" by the french impressionist Paul Dukas if i remember his name well...

Amazing animation back then. Today its just rendered graphics with humour. That was trully art by all means.
