Review: Desyn Masiello and OMID 16B

this was one of the best TIL parties i've been too and i've been to a lot lol
i'm going to keep it short..

- Manzone and Strong, very nice opening set, got to see about last 30min of it

- Desyn and OMID16b were fucking amazing all night, very very nice tunes, most tracks were unrecognizable to me (seems like every single house dj just has to drop Paulo Mojo - 1983 (prydz mix) lol)

- People were just having fun, everyone was dancing and loving it

- seeing jonjon :O

LOL! Nice to see you too dude, not to mention: Karlo, Ben & Jay and that random who said "yo you're jon jon on TA, you rule" hahha

Probably the best set musically that place has seen. I'm speechless and forever a fan of Desyn & Omid. Music was phenomenal and the crowd ate it for breakfast.

- they did this insane (like fucking mindmelting) trick with Pryda - Aftermath, I think layering something else on top of it that fit beautifully!

- a couple Ian Carey tunes

What was Desyn's set like? I'm guessing his set was better than his set in June?

yo that was YAZOO - Situation mashed up with 1983 (WHAT!)

and it indeed sounded hot!

and yea I don't have much more too add other than I agree with that which has already been said. last night was one of the best nights @ TiL for me thus far! awesome tunage all night ling from desyn&omid + m&s.

i thought desyn+omid worked alot better together then nic+desyn did back in july! their music and vibes just seemed to flow alot better together. im very happy I went and stayed to the (almost) bitter end. though work today off of 2 hours of sleep was pretty harsh. oh man but defo worth it!

ps. i cant fucking wait to hear lawler there! hes going to tear that place to shreds!

Even in a big club like TiL they are not using the digital outputs on the decks? Yikes

Maybe that part of their 'sound problem'?

coaxial wouldn't make any difference at all. dont think i've ever seen a club use the digital output on the cdj

Why not?

If the mixer was digital, and so are the decks, but the connections are analog, there are too many conversions. That would certainly affect the sound quality on a large system.

It should all be kept digital, or all analog.

if it doesn't happen in the cdj, its going to get converted in the reciever before its sent to the speakers anyways. you only need coaxial for formats like 5.1/6.1 etc...because rca's are only 2 channel stereo.

That I know, and thats my point.

If you have a digital mixer, it is going to take what ever analog signal and convert it to digital, then process it(what ever the DJ does to it), then convert it back to analog.

In this case, you have 3 conversions between digital and analog instead of 1.

If it was all kept digital, there would only be one conversion, in the mixer from digital to analog to the speakers. The CDJs would send out a digital signal, which would not be changed until the end.

BTW - you can use coaxial for 2 channel set ups, its not just for 5.1+. I am usual coaxial for 2 channels in my house.
