Previews on Beatport
I'm just wondering what people think about listening to the previews on Beatport. They are bad quality, but it seems like the newer releases tend to have better sound quality vs. the older releases. I have downloaded my share of tracks off of Beatport and about 90% are of good, playable quality, while I have downloaded a few that are pretty poor, with too low of sound quality and volume. I've tried adjusted the tracks, but they still sound bad. It is usually older tracks, probably vinyl rips since the tracks weren't released digitally but were probably rips sent to Beatport by the labels. I am just wondering if you think a poorer sounding quality preview of a track is a good indicator that the track will be poor quality/low volume when you buy it?
The preview is a good indicator of the track quality. If it sounds poor on the preview it will probably sound poor when you purchase it.

Yeah that sucks though because this Peter Martin release called "Co-Da/Everything In Between" sounds horrible on the preview, quite low volume. It sounds better on AudioJelly but they only have it as a 192 kbps. If I really want it that bad, i'll probably just do that, because I hate having a bunch of good sounding tracks and then two bad ones..on a CD. Unless I can get it to sound good via some normalization or changing some of the sound frequencies. Just turning the volume up on the track doesn't seem to improve the quality of the track, and that isn't because it's an MP3 (I've had the same problem with WAVs).
I hate it when they end before the drop of a buildup...it makes the whole thing pointless.
I think they do that on purpose though, hehe, tricky beatport bastards!
