Always loved this tune, will check it out and give ya my thoughts on it

Keep up the good work dude.

Good remix

Two little tricks:
- Bass sound is too low, not all acoustic system play it correctly;
- Cut frequency lower 30 Hz.

thanks for the tip

I don't know much about production so my feedback will be really simple and not so productive. I really like it, has a good flow, was just waiting for that melody to kick in on that break down - like it very much. Well done.

thank you, im glad to hear

2 days ago, i told you i wanna hear the full version and here it is...

as i already said, this tune kicks some dirty asses...
your remix is, as always, a pleasure to listen to...
cant say more about it, cause it's again a quality production from you...

nice track

Posted by The Drow on Nov-26-2006 19:21:

I like the gated sound.
The bass is too much in the background.
The piano arp is nice.
That mini break kinda kills the groove for me.
The lead sounds great now
The breakbeat is good.
The saw lead is cool but it follows the bass so maybe you should put another arp on top of it.
I kinda feel it's empty and it's not usuall to your tracks.
Most of them has lot's of fxes and precussions.

8/10

Just listening now...

Quite like the percussion loop,
I agree that the initial bass is a little deep and low
Like the arp too,

here comes the breakdown....
Doesnt seem to have much depth or feeling in the break (if you know what I mean?)
I think you could have shortened the break - it goes on a bit
For some reason it sounds slower than 130bpm.

There is an ambient feeling about the track.
It has the potential of being an excellent track, but at the moment it is a good one. It just seems to be missing something at the moment - maybe a driving bassline to really get it moving, and some more atmosphere on the break.

Even so , a nice easy listening track.
Keep up the good work!

Ps - would you return the review for my latest track?

i love the original, this one is very good to!
the atmosphere is very nice, imo the bassline could be a bit louder.
piano melody sounds very good, no complaints on this.
im keeping it on my drive!

8/10

listening...i like how it begins. Percs are nice. hmm i think the bass could use some more layers. It sounds kind of empty. piano arp is nice. I think it might need a little better of an introduction though. ah the breakdown - Sweet as hell. Brings back memories of the movie. I agree with the drow about the saw lead. This is a great tune to remix and you definately did it justice. Keep it up.

This tune is very nice and wonderful made. It's has great float. I just wonder how much time you put into making one tune? And how do you come up with the names? Keep up the good work, you are skilled.

Thanks for the comments all.

I am working on a remix of this one, which will deal with some of the flaws in the current version. will check your track Andy when i get the time to do do

Jiggy: thanks, i started this track a couple of months ago.. but after a little pause i went off finishing it. thanks for your compliment as well, although I think you think that I wrote the piece, but i did not, its a remix based on a sample from the movie Requiem For A Dream, called Lux Aeternal by Clint Mansell.

I see =) Thanks for the answer. Right now I'm going to listen to more of you work. Keep it going =)

In my opinion it starts very nice but gets worse and worse throughout the track. The ambient FX in the intro works pretty well, but it's not in the same key as the rest of the track which makes it sound a bit weird when the bass line comes in.

The breakdown part with string instruments is nice, but feels a tad digital. The track would have been better without the thin bleepy sawish lead coming after the break.

Overall a good effort, sounds clean and some parts are very well done. But it unfortunately isn't enough, the main parts of the track (especially that thin lead) are really not doing it for me.

Posted by Mycron on Dec-03-2006 11:51:

i think the track is way too long, and sounds too much digital for my taste, although i appreciate the style you're making.

good effort p00ptle

Hey Subtle,
first, thanks for your comment on my track.

I love the Requiem for a Dream soundtrack, great choice!

Just into the track...
nice percussion, tight kick.
The bass is also very nice and warm.
that square synth is not so much my taste.
Now awesome piano melody coming in, arrangement of synths now makes more sense
After the breakdown I was expecting something a little different. A variation on the piano melody maybe?
Anyway, very hypnotizing.
Second breakdown is much better, that beautiful main theme
Nice lead synth, background melody changed subtlely, very good!
I was expecting more of a climax now but since this is a rather calm tune, its fine.

Thanks for sharing!

thanks for the comments guys. Im working on a remix now, which i will take all comments in account and try to make it as perfect as i can.

Posted by Eldritch on Jan-01-2007 23:29:

I like the kind of stuttering pulse synth.
The break is cool.
I like your style alot, it's not over the top with all the huge breaks and stuff. It's more chilled and dark, which I cannot seem to get right when I try.
Can't wait for the remix.

Posted by MegaMan on Jan-20-2007 21:26:

hay, maybe i should try to make another rmx for this so we'll make it a competition anyways, listening...
awesome choon, i absolutely love it.

Listening now...

Nice percs, Tight solid kick. Very nice, cool scratch effects.

Bassline reminds me very strongly of Lange track, which is cool.

Nice synths and piano sounds good.

Breakdown now,

Very nice strings! Great work there.

Enjoyed it a lot.

Cheers for share.

Thumbs up

This is a really nice remix!

Although I agree with the comments that it could use some more depth and feeling, I really love the overall feel of it.

The part after the first break should bring in something new (maybe already introduce the pad that currently starts in the second break?).
The part after the second breakdown (with the introduction of the full-on lead synth) is my favourite, really owns!

The length and current arrangement is fine in my opinion (maybe for listening the end is a bit too long but this is no problem for dj'ing purposes )

Can't wait for your improved remix

Hey, folks and thanks for the comments.

Im glad you like it, I am not fully content with this remix, and still working on the remaking of it, which turned out to be harder than I thought.
