LANGE, UK - www.lange-music.com / www.myspace.com/djlange

It's a well known fact in music that credibility and popularity don't mix. If you're popular, you're 'selling out'. To be credible, you must be 'underground'. In fact, only a select few artists have achieved truly global, credible recognition yet kept an impressive underground status.

With over one million record sales worldwide, headlining performances at the worlds leading clubs and festivals and a tip from DJ Mag as he hits No. 51 of the worlds DJs in their Top 100 Poll and they predict 'The next trance DJ to go supernova', Lange stands tall as one of only a select handful of artists accredited with defining the trance genre sound as we know it today.

Of course you must understand that when we say 'stands tall' we're being flippant. The pint sized performer 'stands tall' at a mere 5"4 inches yet his eclectic productions and live performances are renowned for packing the punch of a Tyson or an Ali.

The Lange rollercoaster ride began in 1997 signing his first deal with Additive Records in the UK. Always a devoted follower of quality music, Lange set precedence in his productions with an awe inspiring collection of debut releases attracting the attention of industry leaders such as Paul van Dyk, Sasha, Paul Oakenfold, Judge Jules and Ferry Corsten.

The publicity fuelled trance boom of the late nineties and the rapid rise of the UK superclub created the platform where the Lange sound was first showcased. A mixture of right time, right place and undeniable talent allowed Lange to implement his production and remix skills to an astonishing 20 UK Top 40 hits, 6 of which rocketed into the highly sought Top 10 and in turn brought performances on Top of the Pops and The Pepsi Chart Show.

Alias work such as SuReal - You Take My Breath Away (No15 UK Chart), Firewall - Sincere and LNG - Inter City along with solo productions including Lange Feat. The Morrighan - Follow Me, Lange Feat. Skye - Drifting Away (No9 UK Chart) and Lange - I Believe, have secured an essential position in the record box of any serious trance DJ of the past decade.

As a remixer Lange regularly tops the demand lists of the most recognised production artists and similar club and chart success has been achieved through remix work for Faithless, Thrillseekers, Pet Shop Boys, Lost Witness and Space Brothers amongst others and most noticeably for DJ Sakin & Friends on the track 'Protect Your Mind', reaching number 4 in the UK Top 40 Chart.

An ever increasing global demand for Lange behind the DJ booth gave him the opportunity to take his sound to new ears both in the UK and Internationally. Lange has been a regular at Passion, Godskitchen, Slinky, Gallery, Gatecrasher and Escape along with Godskitchen's Global Gathering festival in the UK.

On the international circuit Lange has headlined prestigious festivals including Australia's Summerdayze (alongside Ferry Corsten and Tiesto), Spooky and WEMF in Canada whist an overwhelming club demand has taken him to Australia, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Japan, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland and the USA amongst others.

A happy man never stands still and as the global appeal of Lange continues to grow so do his plans for the future. Lange's 'Global Phases' concept is a work in progress and brings together a mirroring definition of the Lange sound incorporating the long awaited follow up mix compilation to his Transformer CD with Mauro Picotto and an extensive 3 month world tour launching in June 2005.

Whilst continuing work with his own Lange Recordings label, Lange is delighted to have signed to Armin Van Buuren's Armada imprint for some exciting Firewall projects due out later this year, following his critically acclaimed 'Sincere' production.

Proved as one the scenes best assets, if you're one of the few who hasn't yet heard Lange in a club, bought his music or danced your Sunday morning through to another DJ providing the Lange soaked soundtrack you can be sure it's only a matter of time before you do!

Thumbs down

Mad props to Lange for coming although I'd rather that he didn't...

Apparently today was someones birthday and so that gave the club owner the right to interfere with the DJ's work and go on the mic twice during some massive build ups. Then things only got worse. Some guy actually approached Lange and grabbed his headphones that he was wearing claiming that he wants to play a track. Lange probably thought that the guy was joking, but it wasn't the case. So he tried to take the headphones back and then the freak almost started choking the guy. Lange actually shut down the music and told the guy to get out. That pretty much killed the vibe, at least for me.

But of course that wasn't enough and if you know the boss you know that every night he has his groupies in the club. Pretty much every second track he was approaching the booth and fiddling with the controls. At no time it produced any audible effect so he was trying to turn every single freaking knob!

What a disgrace.

Cyber should convert to a night market or something.

Thank you and good night.

yea it was kinda fucked up. it was the owner's wife birthday... and yea.. it fucking sucked.. good thing i was with a few ppl that i know otherwise i would've left before... but lange played some awsome tracks.. and in general.. he was a kewl guy

Posted by xtr3m on Dec-03-2006 11:49:

Oh, and ktracid is a pimp with a pimping car!
OK, I'll go to bed now...

Posted by burton_hunnie on Dec-03-2006 12:07:

I agree, the show was AWESOME! Lange kicked ass! Glad I went. Thank you LANGE!

And yes, after that incident with that guy taking the headphones and lange's response...I don't blame the guy for getting pissed off. Everyone seemed to have been interupting the DJ tonight.

All in all it was a great night. It was nice seeing everyone again! Hopefully I can tickets to Armin and see everyone there!

Jen

WTF?!
where was twisted during all that? they didn't hire their big security guys for this? that's seriously retarded. why would promoters allow something like this? EVEN if it was the owner's wife's birthday.

i thought about coming out, but because i didnt, i now have one less exam to worry about, thank god.

oh and ktracid, is a crazy maniac! watch out for him
i still want to see that car of yours, stefan!
