vinyl addicts...go inside
hi... after collecting so many vinyls for the past few months i gotta say i'm a true vinyl addictter.. anyone here has the same sickness that when he hear a good track he gotta order the vinyl right away?
[it happend today after hearing "ascension - for a lifetime [c2c remix"
]
if u r the same opinion with me..you have the sickness and there is no medicine for this one
anyone here can say that he is a true vinyl addict?
i started collecting vinyls less than 2 months and have already 76 vinyls..
great...thats the spirit
been two months for me and i have about 60-70 as well. lol this hobby sure hurts my wallet. now i just gotta try to tone down the vinyl buying and set aside some cash for the tables.
Im a vinyl addict, if I go into a record store for any reason to browse or with my friends etc I nearly always come away with something. It got even worse when I found some decent quality online stores! I have toned it down considerably though as I ended up spending all my money and would be broke for the rest of the month. Now Ive learnt just when to say no!
Oh yes...
When I see a record I really,REALLY want I sometimes feel I have to buy it... yeahhhh.. Altitude - Altitude [S.H.O.K.K. Mix] has been released... DEFINETELY NEED TO GET IT NOW... next day... Rank 1 - Awakening is in stores.. new order.. and so on.
This would usually probably be ok for a while, BUT, I live in Norway, and I buy all my records from abroad netshops, which in turn means that I'm charged about 10 plus 24% VAT in customs for EVERY GODDAMN ORDER I MAKE. What this also means is that I never order less than six records at a time... figure the rest out for yourselves.
Conclusion: vinyl collecting is not exactly cheap for me, about 30-50% of the money I spend goes directly into the pockets of the Norwegian State. I'm gonna send them an e-mail asking for lower taxes for (norwegian) DJs, because I pay more than enough on the imports
lets see... i started in mid dec but i stopped in feb... by feb i had over 100 vinyls and thats not new release i paid good money for alot of oldies. damn it why do all the good stuff have to be on this side of the world and the god damn US doesnt' stock up on it. anyone got good ideas to ship records to the US? because i want to buy more records but i can't take them all back with me to so cali if i keep on buying records. i bought a bag that holds 90 records so im gonna put it in a cardboard record shipping box to ship records inside my suit case. haha
I collect since summer 2001 and got around 600.

hahahahaha read the title
ive been collecting since august 2000 and have almost 200 records.
How do you people come out with that amount of money to spend on vinyl??
I've spent nearly 350 this MONTH on vinyl, cos of the amount of rare records and stuff I've bought, I'm totally skint
Hehe, I'm a vinyladdict in training
I'm now getting obsdesive about this after starting the job a week ago...
yep, 10 months and over 400 vinyls... many hard to find... soooo very hard... u pay an arm and a leg
(james holden - horizons for one)
I've just got around 150 records since June 2001 ... Tax here in Bangkok is over 30% .. =P I would have bought more but there just isn 't that many good records to buy these days .. also I've got Oakie's influence and im trying to start being original now.. start to buy NEW pumping tunes .. Also i'm going through a phase where i don't know what type of music do i want to spin.. looking in my box there are just so many classics and it makes me don't want to mix .. ?? hope that makes sense...
The best way to feed your Vinyl addiction is to sign up to record label mailing lists. All you have to do is pretend to have a residensy at a club. The record labels generally don't check ,cos there are so many local clubs nowadays
However, it's not all good. By being signed to a mailing list, u have to rate how well crowds react to the promos, and they don't like it when u don't rate their song as number one, which can get pretty hellish when u r getting at least 5 new records a week!
It also might be hard to rate a song by a crowd reaction if u r not a proper DJ either!
i used to buy a lot of vinyls the past summer, but i ran out of money, so at most, each month i might buy one or 2, hmm, started buying last year in february, and into the summer i had almost 100 i think, but now the total count is around 120, since i stopped buying regularly, cuz when i started buying, i would buy anything that was old tah ti liked, cuz i know they are hard to get, so yea
way to much for me poor student
I have around 100 vinyls in 3 months time
